Pokemon GO Player Catches Incredibly Rare Shundo

Key Takeaways

  • Shundos in Pokemon GO combine aesthetics and stats, offering both rarity and battle advantages.
  • A Shundo Origin Forme Dialga with Roar of Time move was caught, impressing the community.
  • Roar of Time extends item effects in-game, potentially aiding in finding rare Pokemon like Legendary Galarian Birds.

A Pokemon GO fan couldn’t believe their luck when they successfully captured a Shiny Hundo Pokemon. Getting any Shiny in Pokemon GO is exciting, but a Shundo is especially unique. In this case, though, there’s one thing setting it even further apart and giving cause to celebrate.

Pokemon GO Shundos are the perfect storm of aesthetics and stats. Shiny Pokemon have been exciting since their inception, but they no provide no bonuses outside of looking unique and providing bragging rights. Hundos, on the other hand, have perfect IV stats, making them superior choices for battle. As a result, players who nab a Shundo are usually very happy about it, and this player’s rare catch was no exception.

Pokemon GO fan jro121212 shared a post with the community expressing their shock at successfully catching a Shundo Origin Forme Dialga. The player was evidently overwhelmed to find that it was a Shundo they’d just found, but it got better: this particular Origin Forme Dialga has the coveted Roar of Time move. While any Dialga – especially a Shundo – would be reason to be excited, the incredible luck required for all three of these elements to come together has seriously impressed the community.

What’s So Special About This Particular Pokemon?

The majority of fans have shared their compliments with the OP, but some were curious about what made this particular Pokemon so special. As mentioned, Shundos are a big deal, but Roar of Time is what really tips this one over the edge. Roar of Time was Dialga’s signature move since its inception in the core series, but it’s a little different in Pokemon GO. Roar of Time has a special effect outside of battle while players are walking around, effectively pausing time for a short period. Using it pauses the timer on Daily Adventure Incense, standard Incense, Star Pieces, and Lucky Eggs, extending their use by six minutes.

Extending the effect of any of these elements would be a plus, but the Daily Adventure Incense extension may be the biggest deal. As the name implies, Daily Adventure Incense can only be used once per day, and can lead to players coming across Legendary Galarian Birds, among other rare and coveted Pokemon. Getting those six extra minutes could mean the difference between catching multiple Legendary Galarian birds and not even getting to find a single one, which some fans have lamented is still the case for them.
