A talented Pokemon fan artist has recently devised an artwork that imagines how a possible Mega Charizard Z would look like. Ever since the concept’s introduction in Pokemon X and Y, Mega Evolutions have been pretty popular in fan art, and one Pokemon fan has recently decided to design an alternative evolution for Charizard.
Together with iconic Pokemon like Pikachu and Eevee, Charizard is perhaps one of the most popular creatures in the franchise. Charizard is the final regular form of Charmander, one of the starters in the first generation of Pokemon. At Level 16, Charmander can evolve into Charmeleon, and then into Charizard at Level 36. The popular Fire-type Pokemon has three special evolutions: Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y, and Gigantamax Charizard. Sometimes, however, gamers have wondered what a possible fourth evolution for the creature would look like.

Pokemon Fan Designs Dragon/Dark Variant for Tangela’s Evolutionary Line
A talented Pokemon fan devises a new Dragon/Dark-type variant for the Gen 1 Tangela and its evolution Tangrowth, coming up with a unique design.
Now, likely inspired by the upcoming Pokemon Legends Z-A, a fan called qobrosii devised an artwork depicting a possible form for Mega Charizard Z. In this new Fire/Poison-type form, Charizard would become a huge lizard with black and green skin, and wings that resembled a bat, as well as green flames going from the tip of its tail to the top of its head. According to the creator, this new form was greatly inspired by Zygarde, a Dragon/Ground-type legendary that originally appeared in Gen 4.
Mega Charizard Z Pokemon Fan Art
This was not the first time a fan had designed an artwork depicting a possible Mega Charizard Z, though. A few months ago, for example, one fan designed a Fire/Psychic-type form for Charizard, which had purple and pink skin, several golden ornaments all over its body, and what seemed to be the power to control flames with its mind.
Earlier this year, another fan designed a Ghost-type variant for Charmander and its evolutions. In this amazing artwork, Charmander looked like a skeletal dragon with a black hood, while Charmeleon was depicted as a two-headed creature. Charizard, on the other hand, was reimagined as a huge zombie dragon with three heads, dark skin, and glowing eyes.
With Pokemon Legends Z-A coming in 2025 and bringing back Mega Evolutions, fans will likely keep imagining new forms for popular monsters such as Charizard. Right now, the Pokemon community is eagerly awaiting a new Pokemon Legends Z-A trailer, which is expected by some leakers to come out in December 2024 and could give more information about the new creatures appearing in the game.
