Although the mainline Dynasty Warriors games are powerhouses in and of themselves, one of the main things the Warriors series has become known for over the years is its many spin-offs. Omega Force has worked its Musou magic on a ton of different franchises and series over the years, from One Piece and Persona to The Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem.

Those who have stuck with the series through thick and thin are in for an absolute treat.
Omega Force might have all of its attention on the latest game in the series, Dynasty Warriors: Origins, but that hasn’t stopped fans from wondering about what spin-off could come next. While I personally have all my hopes and dreams pinned on a Kingdom Hearts Warriors game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins producer Tomohiko Sho revealed to me what spin-offs he’d like to work on most.
Omega Force President Wants To Do Star Wars And The Lord Of The Rings Warriors
While at a recent preview event for Dynasty Warriors: Origins, I was lucky enough to chat with the game’s producer and the head of Omega Force, Tomohiko Sho. As well as chatting about the game’s approach to bringing in newcomers using a new protagonist and how it focuses on tactical strategy as much as action, I also took the chance to ask Sho what his dream Warriors spin-offs are.
Sho surprised me by revealing that the first dream Musou game he’d like to work on is a Star Wars Warriors title, which he’s thought about ever since working on Dynasty Warriors 3. Funnily enough, Dynasty Warriors series producer Akihiro Suzuki also said he’d be interested in doing a Star Wars spin-off back in 2022, so it seems there’s a lot of interest.
I am interested in making Star Wars Warriors. It’s actually something that popped into my mind after making Dynasty Warriors 3 that, one day, I’d like to make a Star Wars Warriors game. Lord of the Rings Warriors is something else that I’d really like to make. Those are two IP that I dearly love and are dream projects that I hope I can do. – Tomohiko Sho
The next dream Warriors game that Sho said he’d like to work on is a Lord of the Rings Musou. Sho noted that he’d have to talk to a lot of people to get the ball rolling on it, but that it’s something that he has wanted to do for some time. While the rights are messy with The Lord of the Rings, it seems like a perfect fit for the series and is something I really want to see myself now.
While there’s no indication whether or not we’ll ever get a Star Wars or Lord of the Rings Musou, we are at least getting a chance to dive back into the mainline Dynasty Warriors series when Origins launches on January 17.
