Single-player action RPG Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot surpasses another big sales number after more than four years since its initial release.
In mid-October 2024, game publisher Bandai Namco confirmed previously leaked rumors that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot would get DLC based on the Daima series. While the previous reveal stated that the DLC would be coming soon, it did not give a release window for when players can expect to dive into the Dragon Ball Daima content. A new update, released on the official Dragon Ball Games Twitter page on November 22, narrows down the release window, stating that it will be coming sometime in 2025. Additionally, as the update is titled “Adventure Through the Demon Realm Part 1,” it sounds very likely that the Dragon Ball Daima content will be coming to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in multiple installments, and there is still no indication of when players should expect any subsequent releases.
Dragon Ball Daima Coming to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot in 2025
While the original set of seven characters in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot guided players through the events of the anime of the same name, additional content that has been added since the game’s launch has introduced additional fighters and storylines from other works under the Dragon Ball banner. These additions include the tale of Goku’s father, Bardock, from his self-titled TV special, and characters like Beerus and Whis, who made their first onscreen appearance in the opening episode of Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot isn’t the only video game starring Goku and friends that will see a Dragon Ball Daima update in the near future. On the same day that the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC was initially announced, Spike Chunsoft revealed DLC for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero centered around the newest anime series in the franchise. The second and third sets of DLC characters in Sparking Zero, which are planned for release in the first and second quarter of 2025, respectively, will add Daima characters, including Vegeta (Mini) and Glorio. Additionally, an update to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on November 21 added Daima protagonist Goku Mini to the game’s roster.
