Even after players make it past unexpected traps and infinite zombie swarms, they often find themselves stuck in not being able to move a specific platform to access the rooftops. This platform puzzle can be particularly tricky to solve, as the associated lever seamlessly blends in with the environment. How To Move The Stationary Platform In Ravenholm?
Midway through the chapter, you’ll reach a dead end with zombies ambushing you from every direction. The only way to escape these undead creatures is to reach the higher ground and traverse along the elevated ledges. However, you’ll soon reach the end of a ledge where you’re required to move a platform to cross a large gap and reach the rooftops. Here are the steps to find and access the lever to move the said platform:
- Upon reaching the dead end, look for a control station to your right and go around it to access the stairs that provide you with access to the higher level of the station.
- The control station also includes a viewing balcony that allows you to observe the road down below. The lever that controls the platform is on this viewing balcony.
- Once you’re on the viewing balcony, look for the lever on the far left and at foot level. The reason why you’re most likely to overlook this lever is because of its choice of color, which causes it to appear as one of the supporting rods for the balcony fence.
- Interacting with this lever moves the platform along the suspension wire, allowing you to cross the gap and progress through Ravenholm town.
The feeling of being seemingly stuck in a street with infinitely spawning zombies also adds to the anxiety of having to find the lever as quickly as possible, which can cause you to lose focus and overlook your surroundings. However, once the lever is activated, you can breathe a sigh of relief as the path ahead is linear, and there aren’t any more puzzles to solve for the rest of the chapter.
“We don’t go to Ravenholm” is one of the creepiest chapters in Half-Life 2, featuring a ghost town that’s overrun by nature and inhabited by horrifying creatures.
