While playing Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, you’ll spend quite a lot of time in the Garbage area since you’ll first have to do some small jobs for Diode before meeting up with an important figure, who’ll ask you to assassinate someone. You can start heading to the next area after this segment.

If you want to get more damage and resistance in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, you’ll have to get some upgrades for your gear.

The third main area you’ll enter is called Wild Lands, and your first order of business here will be to enter the Noontide Base. There are a few ways to do this depending on your previous choices.

How To Enter The Noontide Base And Find Their Cargo

Stalker 2 Heart Of Chornobyl showing the cargo for Noontide on the ground.

The Hot On The Trail quest starts as soon as you finish talking to Scar in the previous quest, and the decisions you make here will heavily impact the next part. The first thing you have to do during this quest is get inside the Noontide Base, and here’s every route for it:

  • If you decide to show the broken PDA to the Colonel in Slag Heap, he’ll give you a Warden Badge. You can show this directly at the base’s gate and they’ll let you in.
  • Alternatively, if you showed the PDA to Scar or didn’t show it to either of them, you’ll get A Heavy Burden quest, in which you’ll have to find Noontide’s cargo. This cargo will be your ticket into the base.

You can easily find the cargo by heading to the blue marker for the quest and looking around the rocks near the water, where you’ll find a briefcase on the ground and a PDA on one of the dead bodies. Once you have the item, you can take the small pathway leading to the base, but there will be some dangers lurking.

On your path, you’ll have to defeat three Bloodsucker mutants, which is already difficult since the grass in this area is quite high and you can get slowed by the surrounding swamp. There will also be various small strings on the floor near the base, and a grenade will explode if you run through any of these.

Once you’re in the base, you’ll either have to talk to some random NPCs if you have the badge or deliver the cargo to Professor Lodochka. Either way, you’ll end up with a quest that requires you to find Dubny. Simply use one of the stairs in the main base and take the first path on your left to do this.

You’ll come across a section with some wooden planks leading into a hole. Follow this and you’ll reach Dubny for the next part of the quest.

How To Find Strider

Dubny will ask you to find Strider, who’s currently dealing with an emergency in the base. Follow your steps back to the main base and then keep following the yellow mark for the main quest until you enter a big area with a few injured guards sitting near the entrance. To find Strider, you’ll have to find your way to the end of this area with these steps:

  • As soon as you enter, move towards the other end from the path to the left of the minivan here. You need to ignore the first gap in the wall on your left and enter the second one.
  • Go forward here and you’ll see a small gap in the fence. You can jump on the middle part of the train and go out the fence gap on the other side.
  • Now, you can simply crouch through the cylinders and hollow boxes on the ground before going through the first gap you see on the right wall.
  • Here, jump and crouch through the acid and its fumes, and keep going forward to the other side of the room.
  • Turn right from the pillar and you’ll see some wooden platforms going through the train, leading you to Strider.

After talking to Strider and showing him the PDA, you’ll have to talk to Lodochka again, who’ll direct you toward the WPS building. You’ll have the final and the main part of the quest here.

How To Enter The Underground Area In WPS

As you get close to the WPS building, you’ll first hear a radio communication and your quest will update to talking to the survivors. You can find these survivors in a small building near the entrance, and they’ll tell you about a mutant that breached the facility. You’ll also be asked to get the key from North at the rooftop.

To get there, you first have to ignore the big building and follow the yellow mark to the smaller building on the other side. Once inside, take the stairs leading up on your right and get to the middle part above, where you’ll find a broken floor. This floor lets you jump on the container ahead and then take another set of stairs up.

You can simply defeat all the enemies in your path since
they’ve turned into zombies and will attack you
if you’re not careful.

Once you get up, you’ll see another ladder behind the stairs leading you to the rooftop. Here, head to the small table and jump on the edge to see North dead on some pipes below. You can get the keys from North’s body and then parkour down to the basement entrance following the yellow mark.

Once you have the key, you can also use it to get to North’s cabin, which can be found near the container that you jumped on earlier.

As you enter the basement and go further down, you’ll have to go through a bit of the sewer path covered with acid before you find another ladder leading back up. From here, you can follow a straight path deeper until you find the mutant.

How To Defeat The Mutant And Find Monolith Stash

Stalker 2 Heart Of Chornobyl fighting the psi mutant.

The battle in the final area of the WPS basement will be one of the hardest you’ve faced so far. Not only will there be a lot of zombies here, but also a special mutant that can consistently inflict PSI radiations on your character with each attack. These radiations work separately from the normal radiations.

However, they also slowly decrease your HP apart from making your screen wobbly if you have too many of them. The idea is to hide behind an object as soon as this mutant turns towards you to attack and then spray it with your bullets for a few seconds.

It’s recommended to have one shotgun and one scoped gun for this battle since you can
use the latter for the zombie enemies
that the boss spawns.

Once the monster is defeated, you can take the path out to find the Inductor in a room and some pills to reduce your Psi radiations around. In the hallway where you have the exit leading back up, you can keep going past this exit to find the Monolith Stash on your left and punch in the code.

Unfortunately, the stash will be looted and you’ll only get a few guns and ammo here. Reporting all this back to Strider will finish the quest. If you took the Shift Change quest, you’ll also have to defeat Hog and a few other humans on your way out.
