Key Takeaways
- Earlier this week, Bandai Namco shared the launch trailer for Chapter 2 of Xenoverse 2’s Future Saga DLC.
- The trailer ends with a tease showing an area of Conton City in ruins, which some have taken as a tease for Xenoverse 3.
- While it could just be a teaser for Chapter 3, the origins of Conton City (which was built on Toki Toki City) have made some hopeful that something new is coming.
Dragon Ball fans think that the Future Saga expansion for Xenoverse 2 might be leading up to Xenoverse 3, as the latest trailer appears to tease Conton City (or at least part of it) being destroyed.
Considering the fact that Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been around for nearly eight years now, it’s a little wild to think that it’s still being regularly updated. Not only does it get new events, missions, and skills fairly often, but it’s even been getting massive DLC packs and expansions, including its latest – the Future Saga.

Even if you’ve played the original Budokai Tenkaichi games, you aren’t prepared for how tough Sparking Zero’s story mode is.
Just a few days ago, Bandai Namco shared a launch trailer for Chapter 2 of the Future Saga, which introduces Belmod, Daima Goku, and an Ultra Supervillain version of Jiren. Interesting character choices aside, the trailer also appears to tease something bad happening to Conton City in the next part of the DLC.
Is Xenoverse 2’s Future Saga Finally Leading Up To Xenoverse 3?
Towards the end of the launch trailer, a brief glimpse is shown of the Xenoverse 2 Time Patroller looking at a destroyed building (which seems to be the hologram statue) in Conton City. This appears to be teasing the events of future chapters in the Future Saga DLC, but fans also think that the saga as a whole could finally be leading up to Xenoverse 3.
While the shot in the trailer can just be taken as a sign that the Future Saga is about to get serious, Twitter user SLOplays pointed out that “history repeats itself”, as Conton City, the main area in Xenoverse 2, was actually built on the ruins of Toki Toki City, which was the hub world of the first Xenoverse.
With part of Conton City now getting destroyed just like Toki Toki did, some fans are theorising that this event might be teasing a new city, which would likely be the focal point of Xenoverse 3. Over on Twitter and Reddit, fans have been discussing the tease, and many of them are hopeful that it’s for the long-awaited sequel, or at least a sign that something’s coming after the Future Saga.
I am absolutely
dying
for Xenoverse 3, but I do think that the teases are just for the Future Saga and that we’re still a long ways off a full sequel.
On the other hand, some fans think that it’s just a tease for Chapter 3 of the DLC and that Xenoverse 2’s support isn’t going to end any time soon. We’ll have to wait to see what happens in the DLC, but for anyone else hoping to see a new game, it’s worth noting that it’ll no doubt happen one day.
