Dave The Diver’s Free Godzilla DLC Will Be Delisted After Today

Dave The Diver's Free Godzilla DLC Will Be Delisted After Today

Key Takeaways

  • Dave the Diver’s free Godzilla DLC will be delisted from all storefronts at 3 am EST on November 23, 2024.
  • That means today, and a little but of tomorrow, is your last chance to claim it.
  • There has been no confirmation the DLC will ever return which means if you don’t claim it now, you might have missed out for good.

Dave the Diver received some pretty big DLC earlier this year when Godzilla came crashing into the game. The additional content is free and was released across all platforms on which Dave the Diver can be played six months ago. However, Mintrocket warned players at the time that the Godzilla DLC would only be available to claim for a limited time, and its availability window is about to slam shut.

The DLC dropped on May 23, 2024, and its six-month window will come to an end on November 23, 2024, so tomorrow. However, if you want the Godzilla content, you’ll want to claim it today as the window closes in the early hours of Saturday morning. 3 am EST, to be exact, so if you’re reading this before that time, you’ve still got a chance to claim it. If you’re reading this after and you missed it, there’s a chance you’ve missed it for good.

The team behind Dave the Diver hasn’t explained why the Godzilla DLC is only available for a limited time. Probably because the reasoning behind it is boring and revolves around legal jargon and licensing agreements. There’s a chance that it returns in the future, but there’s no guarantee, and there’s every chance that it has a price slapped on it if it comes back whereas if you claim it now, you get it for free.

Dave the Diver’s Godzilla DLC does exactly what it says on the sardine tin. It introduces the kaiju to the hit 2D game and brings a whole bunch of new Godzilla-themed content along with it.

While you need a copy of Dave the Diver in your library to claim the DLC on Steam, you don’t even need to own the game on PlayStation or Nintendo Switch to pick it up. Even better for PlayStation owners, if you’re subscribed to Plus’s Extra or Premium tiers, Dave the Diver is included in its library of games. That means you can download the base game and the Godzilla DLC right now at no additional cost.

If you feel like you’ve seen a lot of Godzilla recently, that’s because the kaiju just turned 70. I know, he doesn’t look a day over 65. The iconic lizard has also teamed up with Transformers with Hasbro adding a Megatron x Godzilla action figure to its Synergenex line this week.
