Best Wildcards in Call of Duty: Warzone

Best Wildcards in Call of Duty: Warzone

Key Takeaways

  • Bandolier provides Munitions Satchel for increased ammo carrying capacity, but is not the most valuable Wildcard due to other means of acquiring ammo.
  • Battle Ready offers a UAV and a Utility Box for a headstart in battle, but both items can be found in Supply Caches along with being purchases from the Buy Station.
  • Gunfighter allows players to equip 3 extra attachments to their primary weapon in
    Warzone
, enhancing the weapon’s customization options.

Call of Duty: Warzone has seen a wide array of additional content with its integration with Black Ops 6, bringing the Area 99 Resurgence map into the game, alongside a roster of new meta weapons for players to utilize in the popular title. Omnimovement has also debuted, allowing players to slide, dive, and strafe their way to victory. However, that’s not all, as the player loadout system has also undergone a major overhaul.

Alongside a roster of additional Perks — each offering unique benefits never before seen in Warzone — Wildcards have also made their debut, some carried over from Black Ops 6. Though there are currently only a handful of Wildcards available, and the one that players pick will ultimately come down to personal preference, certain options are undeniably better than others. Here is every Wildcard in Warzone, ranked.

More Wildcards may very well debut in future seasons of
Warzone
. As such, this list will be updated to include the latest Wildcards, ranking them based on their usefulness.

Pros

Reach Level 15

Loadout provides a Munitions Satchel

  • Allows players to increase their ammo-carrying capacity.

First up is Bandolier, a Wildcard that is exclusive to Warzone. Bandolier provides players with a guaranteed Munitions Satchel, an item that increases the player’s ammunition-carrying capacity. While this is definitely a neat benefit on the surface, ensuring that players have the means to hold onto more ammunition — which will undoubtedly prove useful for the endgame — it is not exactly the biggest benefit in the game for a few reasons.

Firstly, there are several ways players can acquire more ammunition if they find themselves running low. Utility Boxes, for example, are a fairly common Field Upgrade that can be found all over Urzikstan, Area 99, and Rebirth Island, providing the benefit of additional ammunition, armor, and equipment for all squad members. Pair this with the fact that Ammo Caches are also scattered across maps, alongside the fact that ammunition is commonly found as both ground loot and within Supply Caches, and it becomes clear that Bandolier is one of the least valuable Wildcards available in Warzone.

3 Battle Ready

Description

Pros

Reach Level 38

Loadout provides a UAV and a Utility Box

  • A guaranteed UAV reveals enemy players on the minimap.
  • Offers armor, equipment, and ammunition with a Utility Box.

Battle Ready, as its name suggests, offers players notable items that allow them to be ready for upcoming battles. These items include a UAV and the Utility Box Field Upgrade. A UAV will provide eyes in the sky, and the Utility Box ensures that all players are stocked up on armor plates, equipment, and ammunition — each serving as a great pick-me-up in the heat of battle. These benefits allow players to survey the battlefield for enemies as soon as they acquire their loadout, along with also giving access to the means to get back valuable items should they find themselves running low on ammo or armor.

Submachine Guns remain as the top weapons to use in close-range for Warzone. Here are some of the top options and the best weapon builds for each.

While for some, these benefits may come in handy, especially the perk of gaining access to a guaranteed UAV, both items provided with the Battle Ready Wildcard can already be found in Supply Caches or purchased from the Buy Station. While obtaining these items this way does require cash and a bit of luck, there are also two additional Wildcards whose benefits far outweigh those offered by Battle Ready. However, if players have a hard time acquiring a UAV and want the extra advantage of being able to reveal enemy players on the minimap, then Battle Ready can be a decent option.

2 Overkill

Run an Additional Primary Weapon as a Secondary

How To Unlock

Description

Pros

Reach Level 24

Equip two primary or secondary weapons

  • Receive two weapons with personalized attachments equipped.
  • Provides versatility when it comes to close and long-range gunfights.

Ranking second is Overkill, a carry-over Wildcard from Black Ops 6, one that many players may default to using for their loadouts. Overkill allows players to equip two primary or secondary weapons for their loadouts, though it is primarily used by the player base to equip two primary weapons right from the start. The benefits of having two additional primary weapons are an invaluable asset in Warzone Battle Royale. Although Handguns are a solid option in Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, running combinations like an Assault Rifle and a Submachine Gun or even pairing a close-range option with a Sniper Rifle is far better for players looking to be equipped for any situation.

With Overkill, players are offered a surefire way to get their hands on two fully customized meta weapons as soon as they obtain a Loadout Drop. However, the only major downsides with Overkill are the fact that players are limited to using only five attachments for their primary weapon and the redundancy if players simply purchase their second desired primary weapon from the Buy Station. The ground loot in Warzone right now is also quite good, allowing players to come across a roster of solid weapons to pick up in place of their loadout’s secondary.

1 Gunfighter

Description

Reach Level 33

Equip 3 extra attachments to your primary weapon (Black Ops 6 weapons only)

  • Offers more freedom for weapon customization.
  • Provides additional stat buffs for primary weapons.

Taking the number one spot is Gunfighter, another carry-over Wildcard from Black Ops 6, only this time proving much more useful for Battle Royale specifically. Gunfighter offers the neat benefit of equipping three extra attachments to the primary weapon in a player’s loadout, and while this may seem like overkill to some, having eight attachments is remarkably useful for a few reasons. Firstly, the main attributes players will often want to improve on their weapons in Warzone are damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control, ensuring that each weapon is well-equipped for battling on the larger maps of Urzikstan and Area 99. With five attachments, players can boost these attributes just fine, but what about other attributes like mobility and handling?

Since attachments in Black Ops 6 now come with far fewer downsides, players are incentivized to improve almost every major stat of their weapon. Running Gunfighter allows players to do this, giving them far more freedom in how they can customize their weapons. Another benefit of Gunfighter is the fact that it is the only Wildcard whose benefits can’t be substituted for other methods in-game. For example, players can acquire a second custom primary from the Buy Station, eliminating the need for Overkill, and the other items included with Battle Ready and Bandolier can also be looted before players even obtain their loadouts. An eight-attachment weapon customized to the player’s liking, however, is only something that can be acquired through the use of Gunfighter.
