Key Takeaways
- Starfield update adds achievement-friendly Creations, no more blocking achievements.
- Quality-of-life improvements, new vehicle added, free questline for players.
- Bethesda celebrates 15 million players, promises ongoing improvement in Starfield experience.
Starfield developer Bethesda has confirmed the latest update adds support for achievement-friendly Creations, this means any Creations released through the Verified Creators program will have the option to make the mod achievement-friendly. While Starfield‘s Creations program has been massively popular with the community since its release earlier this year, players were left disappointed by the fact that downloading and playing with any mods through the game’s Creations program would disable achievements.
Thanks to the latest Starfield update, blocked achievements are officially a thing of the past. Alongside this highly-requested feature, the November 19 update made several quality-of-life improvements while also adding another land vehicle and a free questline for players to complete. The latest update was also in celebration of Starfield hitting over 15 million players since its launch in 2023, according to Bethesda. The studio said it is “thrilled” to have so many players embark on this journey and is always looking for ways to improve players’ experience in Starfield.

Starfield Adds Achievement-Friendly Creations
Alongside some much-needed quality-of-life improvements and the return of uncapped frame rates for Starfield on Xbox Series X, Bethesda has also confirmed that creators now have the option to make their Starfield mods achievement-friendly. In a new post on the Bethesda website, the studio said that, as of the November update, Starfield Creations released through the Verified Creators program will have the option to be achievement-friendly, meaning (if enabled by the creator) mods downloaded via Starfield Creations will no longer block achievements from being earned by the player. Unfortunately, Bethesda did state that achievements will not retroactively unlock on previous game saves with Creations, even if those Creations have now been made achievement-friendly by the mod’s creator.
Back in June, Bethesda released the highly anticipated Creations program for Starfield. While it wasn’t available at launch, fans were patiently awaiting its arrival after the studio’s previous titles, such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4, both received the same Creations program. Unfortunately, its eventual release earlier this year didn’t go down too well with fans as many blasted Starfield‘s Creations for being too expensive. Even months later, players still believe that many of the official Bethesda creations are priced too high, with some short quests costing around $7, while other quests are even charged per mission.
Starfield‘s Creation store does, however, offer both free and paid mods, so not every player has to part ways with their cash to get in on the action. And with achievement-friendly mods now being opened up to all creators, fans will likely be more inclined to check out some of the amazing Creations on the store. Over on Reddit, fans are already praising Bethesda for the latest update, with one user calling it an “awesome update” and another stating that the lack of achievement-friendly mods was previously preventing them from checking out specific Creations.
