Weapon customization is a returning feature in Stalker 2, and it works just about the same way as it did in the series’ previous titles. Attachments like silencers and scopes give players extra adaptability when it comes to combat, and using them has never been as easy.
If you want to get your own silenced pistol in Stalker 2, or turn your assault rifle into DMR, all you’ll need is to get the right parts and slap them onto your gun. If you’re confused as to how to do all these things, here’s a quick refresher.

How to Use Weapon Attachments in Stalker 2
There are two ways to equip weapon attachments: you can either drag and drop compatible weapon accessories onto your weapons directly from your inventory. The process will take a few seconds since you have to bring your bag up, and since time doesn’t pause when you’re at the inventory screen, doing this in the middle of a fight will be risky. To remove weapon attachments, open your inventory, right-click on the weapon you want to modify, then select the name of the weapon attachment you want to take off.
Attachments like suppressors and sights can be bought or occasionally found in Stalker stashes. Others, such as foregrips and laser sights, must be installed by technicians.
Keep in mind that compatibility will be an issue when it comes to equipping weapon attachments. Pistol suppressors, for example, can only be equipped on handguns, and sights like the Holographic Sight can only be used on guns with the right mounts. Not every gun comes with top rails for sights, though you can visit technicians in towns and pay them to add such rails for you. This is very useful if you’re having trouble using the Viper-5 SMG’s iron sights, though it will cost you about 900 Coupons.
If you really want to attach some accessories to your guns without opening your inventory, you can do so by using the Attachments menu. Press and hold T on your keyboard (or D-pad Up) to bring up the Attachments menu, then click on the accessories you want to equip. A short animation will play once you’ve made your selection, so you won’t be able to fire off any shots until your selected attachment has been fully mounted.
Removing attachments from this menu works the same way. Just hold the T key and click on whatever you want to remove. With this in mind, you should be able to take any attachments off the weapons of dead enemies — dropped guns are almost always in terrible condition, and if you happen to find a beat-up gun with some useful accessories, it’s best to just take those accessories and throw the gun away.
Keep in mind that attachments don’t necessarily make your guns perform any better (except for foregrips and similar gun parts). If you want to improve your weapon’s stats in Stalker 2, you need to visit a technician and purchase internal weapon upgrades from them.
