Set in Baltimore, Maryland, the show ran for five seasons and 60 total episodes. The show stars Dominic West, John Doman, Idris Elba, Wendell Pierce, Lance Reddick, and Michael Kenneth Williams, among many others.
Every season of The Wire is highly regarded by critics, and Barack Obama himself has said The Wire is his favorite TV show of all time. Despite being highly regarded, The Wire was only nominated for two Emmys and never won any.
