Over the past few days, many credible Genshin Impact leakers have mentioned a new four-star character named Lan Yan, who is expected to have a lower rarity compared to Mavuika and Citlali. The new Liyue character will reportedly be tied to the Lantern Rite Festival, one of Genshin Impact‘s main annual events that’s always hosted in the Geo nation. A new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed extensive details about Lan Yan’s kit, and she will reportedly be a support character whose kit revolves around providing shields.

Genshin Impact: Lan Yan Kit Explained

Lan Yan’s Elemental Skill allows her to dash forward, creating a shield that scales with her ATK. Upon hitting an enemy, she will leap back into the air. While in mid-air, using her Elemental Skill again will make her release Feathermoon Rings that deal additional Anemo damage in Genshin Impact. Players can also hold this skill to enter Aiming Mode, allowing them to adjust the direction of her dash. Lan Yan’s Elemental Burst creates a field effect that pulls nearby enemies and deals AoE Anemo damage.

This burst may work similarly to Venti’s Wind’s Grand Ode, which is widely considered one of the best Elemental Bursts in Genshin Impact. Many fans claim that she could be a decent neutral support since she is an Anemo user. However, one of the main flaws in her kit is that the shield duration is only eight seconds, with a 16-second cooldown.

Fortunately, Lan Yan’s C6 seems to address this issue by granting her another charge for her Elemental Skill. Many fans have expressed frustration that HoYoverse placed such a high-priority effect in Lan Yan’s final constellation. They hope that this feature could be moved to C2 or C3 during the beta phase. There is still time for HoYoverse to make many changes to Lan Yan considering that Genshin Impact Update 5.3 is expected to arrive around January 1.
