What is the best Marine SP loadout for Black Ops 6 and Warzone? You’ll not often see someone running a shotgun as their primary weapon. Secondary, with that precious Overkill perk, sure, but with the smaller Face Off maps in Black Ops 6 and this incredible Marine SP build, you might just promote this gun to your top slot.
Right out of the box, this powerful Black Ops 6 shotgun can one-shot kill enemies at close range, so, once you’ve set it up with the attachments from our Marine SP loadout for BO6 below, it’s a shoo-in for one of the best Black Ops 6 weapons. Not only is this shotgun a great secondary for the core 6v6 multiplayer Black Ops 6 mode and for those close-combat fights in Warzone, but it’s a stone-cold killer in Face Off maps and a valuable asset in Zombies, too. What an all-rounder.
How to unlock the Marine SP in BO6
Good news! The Marine SP is available by default, so you can start building it into your own loadouts from level 4, when you unlock custom loadouts. It’s also part of one of the default loadouts before then, so you can give the base weapon a try before you start customizing it with our build above.
Best Black Ops 6 Marine SP loadout
- Optic: Otero Micro Dot
- Muzzle: Full Choke
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Precision Foregrip
- Stock: Combat stock
As always, the optic you choose here is down to personal preference. In fact, you might not even use it that much when you hear what else we have to say here, but the Otero Micro Dot is good to have in lieu of a better alternative for when you do want to aim down sights.
From here, we’re really giving this beast some bite. Thanks to its superb firepower and accuracy, the Marine SP is actually an incredible weapon when you fire from the hip, which makes it faster. We’ve taken this into consideration with these attachments, adding the Full Choke muzzle to improve hipfire spread. Meanwhile, we’ve neglected any of our usual ADS improvements in favor of other buffs.
The Reinforced Barrel improves vertical recoil control, but we’ve actually chosen it for its increased mag capacity and greater damage range. The Combat barrel is an okay alternative, but reduces mag capacity for sprint-to-fire speed. Instead, for that, we’ve gone with the Combat Stock, which slightly increases sprint-to-fire and largely improves dive-to-fire and slide-to-fire speeds, great for the new Black Ops 6 Omnimovement. Finally, the Precision Foregrip isn’t necessary for the build we’re going for, and could be swapped out if you really wanted, say, 12-gauge slug ammo instead, but it is an added bonus that it increases aiming idle sway and recoil.
Best Black Ops 6 Marine SP class build
Secondary weapon: AMES 85
Melee: Knife
Tactical: Smoke
Lethal: Combat Axe
Field Upgrade: Assault Pack
Perk 1: Ghost
Perk 2: Fast Hands
Perk 3: Guardian
Specialty: None
Wildcard: Overkill
We’ve built this Marine SP class build around having the shotgun as your primary weapon, but you can always use it as a secondary in another build. Either way, we’d still go for the AMES 85 as the other weapon, but the rest of this loadout is build around small maps and close combat.
Naturally, Overkill is going to be your choice of Wildcard here to give you a less restrictive second weapon. From there, our perks lean into the fact that we want to be quick, close, and quiet. Ghost and Ninja are both great options for Perk 1, but we’ve gone with Ghost, which prevents you appearing on enemy minimaps for the majority of the time, since we don’t have a suppressor Muzzle on our gun. Fast Hands is another obvious choice so you can swap between your AR and your shotgun when you’re not quite close enough for the one-shot kill. Finally, Guardian allows you to heal faster when capturing and holding objectives. We like this one for shotgun play as you can find a little unsuspecting corner somewhere.
We’ve gone for the simple Assault Pack for our Field Upgrade, so that you can refill your essentials quickly, and the standard Knife for a melee weapon, though it’s unlikely you’ll need it with the Marine SP. Then, there’s our throwables. The Smoke grenade allows you to confuse the enemy briefly while you get up as close as you need, while we’ve gone for the Combat Axe as your lethal. Our reasoning for this is that it’s another swift kill in close combat that will come in super handy if you find yourself out of shells.
Best Warzone Marine SP loadout
- Optic: Prismatech Reflex
- Muzzle: Modified Choke
- Barrel: Long Barrel
- Stock: Quickdraw Stock
- Fire Mods: Rapid Fire
For Warzone, we need an entirely different build for the Marine SP, as this is going to mostly be a secondary weapon for when you find an enemy team inside a building. This means we want something powerful up close with a quick reaction time and time-to-kill speed.
Just to show that your optic choice doesn’t matter, we’ve gone for a different one here with the Prismatech Reflex, but, as ever, it’s personal preference. In fact, you could even go with a 2x zoom optic here, but we’d still recommend sticking with one of the standard ones with your favorite reticle attached.
With the Modified Choke muzzle attached, we’re increasing the aim-down-sights pellet spread, meaning your accuracy in increased – helpful if you’re taken by surprise. You could swap this out for the Full Choke if you’re more likely to fire from the hip, but we’ve got the Quickdraw Stock attached, so your ADS speed is faster.
Then, we’ve added the Long Barrel to increase damage range and mag capacity. With the Rapid Fire fire mod installed as well, this gives us more, faster shells and a quicker reload. With huge damage capability and this speed and capacity, coming across a full squad shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Best Warzone Marine SP class build
- Primary weapon: XM4
- Melee: Knife
- Tactical: Prox Alarm
- Lethal: Semtex
- Perk 1: Gung-Ho
- Perk 2: Assassin
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Specialty: Enforcer
- Wildcard: Overkill
We’re not considering Marine SP a primary weapon for Warzone, so you need to have something like the XM4 or another powerful, ranged AR, which also means you must have the Overkill Wildcard equipped. The XM4 is the default AR, as the Marine SP is the default shotgun, and both are great weapons, so this pairing – and most of the rest of the build, in fact – are great early game choices or perfect for when you’ve just prestiged.
By combining Gung-Ho, Assassin, and Double Time, you gain the Enforcer perk Specialty, which perfectly lends itself to those fast squad kills with the Marine SP. Each kill gives you a boost to healing, so you have even more chance of devastating an entire team with your one-shot secondary weapon.
The standard Knife is ultimately the best melee for now, and Semtex is also a solid lethal choice for those indoors fights. especially when paired with the Prox Alarm so you can pinpoint enemy locations.
Best Black Ops 6 Marine SP alternatives
So far, there is actually only one other shotgun in Black Ops 6, the ASG-89, though we wouldn’t really call it an alternative as it plays an rather different role. That said, if you’re struggling with the Marine SP, the ASG-89 may suit you better, as it’s a semi-automatic shotgun with a much larger mag capacity. While you won’t get one-shot kills as easily, it’s accuracy is better.
With these Marine SP loadouts for BO6 and Warzone, you should have no problem dominating in those small Black Ops 6 maps – specifically in the Face Off mode. This Marine SP is also appears in our best Black Ops loadout in Zombies mode, too. It’s incredible at one-shotting the undead in the first few rounds of the zombie game and takes down Vermin with ease.
