Key Takeaways
- Legendary Characters in Dead by Daylight are unique cosmetic sets that transform existing characters into new, iconic personas.
- These Legendary Characters allow fan-favorite faces like Lisa Garland and Claire Redfield to enter the game with their own unique appearances and voices.
- Transforming characters like Herman Carter into the Look-See or Trevor Belmont into Alucard brings new dimensions and lore to the game.
One of the best things about Dead by Daylight is the sheer number of characters that are available to play. From tons of Killers to oodles of Survivors, there’s a character for every aesthetic and playstyle out there. Add to that the piles of cosmetics, and there’s something for everyone.

If one enemy is all you want to worry about, these horror games have you covered.
But occasionally, there comes a character who is added to the game through cosmetic sets, but doesn’t fit into an entire expansion on their own. These characters become Legendary Characters. They have their own appearance, and often their own posture and voice pack, and can be just as fun as the original character. These are the best cosmetic sets that change a character into a Legendary Character.
10
Cheryl Mason To Lisa Garland
The Cursed Nurse
The Lisa Garland set for Survivor Cheryl Mason was the very first Legendary Character ever added to the game. Silent Hill had so many iconic characters that if all of them were added to Dead By Daylight, it would quickly become Hill By Daylight. But Lisa’s appearance marked a new phase of Survivor design.
Lisa is notable for having a completely different posture to Cheryl in-game. While initially she had the same voice lines as Cheryl, later updates would give her unique sounds. Lisa appeared in the first Silent Hill game all the way back in 1999, so it is fitting that she was the first Legendary Character to be introduced.
9
Herman Carter To The Look-See
The CryptTV Killer
In 2017, YouTube channel CryptTV introduced the Look-See. The Look-See is the embodiment of grief gone too far as it hunts after those who have lost themselves to grief, leading it to appear and take the part of a victims that symbolizes their grief.
The Doctor, also known as Herman Carter, isn’t exactly a character who focuses on grief. He’s more of a ‘mad CIA scientist with lightning powers’ kind of guy. But he can be transformed into this spectre of loss by equiping the Look-See’s skin. The Look-See was part of a collaboration with CryptTV and Dead By Daylight, and it still remains one of the Doctor’s best cosmetics.
8
Jill Valentine To Claire Redfield
The Searching Sister
Resident Evil is another one of those series where Dead By Daylight just couldn’t include everyone who deserves to be there. The Survivor list would be pages and pages longer if everyone from Resident Evil showed up, but Legendary Character skins allowed for some fan favorites to arrive, including Claire Redfield.

Claire Redfield is the younger sister of Chris Redfield, who was also added to the game as a Legendary Character for the Survivor Leon Kennedy. Claire was the first Legendary Character to get her own voice lines, making her a historic entry in the Dead By Daylight Survivor roster.
7
Trevor Belmont To Soma Cruz
The Dark Lord Reborn
Soma Cruz is the reincarnation of Dracula in Castlevania. This makes his inclusion in Dead By Daylight both unique and interesting. Soma is the only character to both be Survivor and Killer, although he can (understandably) only be used as a Survivor. Soma is purely on the side of his fellow Survivors, but his lore does make his inclusion a little funny.
Hilariously, Dracula even has special voice lines if he spots Soma in the lobby. He will respond with confusion, or be grimly amused by the irony. Soma, fate has a sense of humor indeed. Soma’s own voice lines have him focused on escaping, both the Trials and his own past.
6
The Xenomorph To Xenomorph Queen
The Hive Leader
Who hasn’t watched Alien and marveled at the horrific beauty of the Xenomorph Queen? Both appalling and fascinating, the Xenomorph Queen is considered the highest of lifeforms within her species. The Xenomorph was introduced to Dead By Daylight already, but with the correct Legendary Character skin players can let the queen conquer.
The Xenomorph Queen is the largest of the Killers. Hilariously, she barely fits on the loading screen. When she is in play, Survivors will know her by her size. While she plays the same as the regular Xenomorph, the Xenomorph Queen still stands in a league of her own. Unlock Ellen Ripley’s true rival today, and allow the queens to take the field.
5
Steve Harrington To Jonathan Byers
The Big Brother
Steve Harrington has had an interesting history in Dead By Daylight. He was initally added in 2019 during the first Stranger Things chapter release, but was removed in 2021 due to copyright issues. Thankfully he (and the other Stranger Things characters) made their return in 2023. As if being given a reward for being patient, Steve also got a Legendary Character skin for Jonathan Byers.

These games bring you to the other side of the game board.
The brother of Will Byers, Jonathan’s life is turned upside down (ha ha) when his brother vanishes. The realm of the Entity is hardly better than the world of Stranger Things, but at least he can get a break from being chased by the Demogorgon by being chased by other bloodthirsty monsters. Gotta focus on the positives, right?
4
Ellen Ripley To Rain Carradine
The Romulus Protagonist
It’s easy to repeat this, but Rain Carradine is a special Legendary Survivor. Rain is the protagonist of Alien: Romulus, and was released in the game at the same time the movie was released to the public. This marks the first time Dead By Daylight has actively collaborated with a franchise during an active release. Interesting, huh!
But Rain’s more than some fun facts. She’s a hardy Survivor who can pop generators and unhook her allies with the best of them. She’s no stranger to Xenomorphs, and she can make use of Ellen’s perks (as well as any others) to get her way out of trouble. Try out this very new survivor and see if she’s worth it. Hint: she is.
3
Cheryl Mason To Cybil Bennett
The Searcher Hunted
Cybil Bennett is another Legendary Character that was released for Cheryl Mason. Cybil was one of the two protagonists of the original Silent Hill game, and spent much of that game in search of Cheryl, making her appearance here as one of Cheryl’s cosmetics oddly fitting.
Cheryl Mason has three Legendary Characters attached to her, with Cybil Bennett, Lisa Garland, and Maria being the three. Alessa Gillespie also exists as a Costume Character, but Cybil remains the best out of the options. Cybil is a heroic character in the very first Silent Hill game, which makes her role here as a hero fighting against ultimate evil seem perfect.
2
Trevor Belmont To Alucard
The Heir of Dracula
With the arrival of Dracula in Dead By Daylight, who better to confront the Dark Lord than the Dark Lord’s own son? Trevor Belmont can be transformed into Alucard, Dracula’s son by his late wife, with just a click of the mouse.

Some are more than even The Entity can control.
You can recreate the tragedy of Castlevania over and over again while playing as Alucard. Dracula will even have some special lines when encountering his son, such as asking his beloved Lisa for forgiveness or expressing anger that Alucard has acted against him. But even if not facing Dracula, Alucard is still very enjoyable to play as.
1
Charles Lee Ray To Tiffany Valentine
The Good Gal
Few horror film icons are as endearing and terrifying as Chucky’s own bride, Tiffany Valentine. The original henchgirl before it was cool, Tiffany was Chucky’s devoted partner in crime who managed to resurrect him (with the help of Voodoo for Dummies). Over the years, she has become as iconic as Chucky himself. The two rarely appear apart, and Dead by Daylight is no exception.
Jennifer Tilly returned to the role of Tiffany to bring her trademark ‘cute and malicious’ voice to the Trials. Tiffany can be heard playfully teasing the Survivors, and views the hunt as a fun little game she gets to play. Chucky even makes a cameo when playing as Tiffany, as his spirit will appear to help her pick up downed Survivors. They even flirt when he appears. Aw! That’s love.
