Every home you see in the Ravenwood neighborhood of The Sims 4: Life & Death is built with high walls, plenty of ornate furniture, elaborate light fixtures, and plenty of cracks in the windows, floors, and walls. But it’s not all decay in this deathly pack: some of the furniture is absolutely gorgeous!

Adding just shy of 200 new Build/Buy objects to the game, The Sims 4: Life & Death brings a slew of sleek new furniture to help bring some life into the death-centric world of Ravenwood. Here are our picks for the best additions from the expansion pack.
8
Best Bed: Tufted Elegance Bed
It’s sometimes been difficult for packs to give us Build/Buy items that are easy to use in builds that don’t squarely focus on the furniture from one pack, but the Tufted Elegance Bed certainly looks appropriate in any moderately luxurious bedroom. While there are plenty of spooky options for vibes, you’ll surely find something more natural among its 14 total color options.
With an energy score of eight and stress relief score of five, the Tufted Elegance bed looks lush in any bedroom, but you’ll find options to pair seamlessly with it from the Life & Death pack as well. Look for The Modern Grimpressions Nightstand by GentleNight to place beside the bed, or The Modern Grimpressions Dresser by GentleNight to offer new ways for your Sim to get dressed. Place a few Secret Goopy Bottles on there for some tasteful clutter.

Best Chair: Studded Spires & Filthy Liars Rocking Chair
Thankfully, The Sims knows that there’s no death without first having life, and we’ve got plenty of cute new ways to create a Ravenwood-themed nursery for our littlest Sims. While the Studded Spires & Filthy Liars Rocking Chair looks nice anywhere in your home, especially with 12 colors available for it, it’s the perfect addition for your next nursery.
After your tots have aged out of the Veil of Peace Bassinet, they can crawl into the Macabre Munchkin’s Restful Night Bed. Grab them the new Nibbles the Grimtern toy to help them with their Creativity skills or to bolster their budding Social skills, too! There’s even a nice little pouf, the Giant Mollusk Pouf, to offer a smaller place for your smaller Sims to sit.

Best Surface: The Modern Grimpressions Desk By GentleNight
There’s a pretty big focus on the Writing skill in The Sims 4: Life & Death, between the Ghost Historian aspiration requiring it (as well as being how you access a new type of book for your author Sims to write) and the option to write out your Sim’s bucket list. The Quaint Crowskin Journal is a good place to do these things, and the best place to write in it is on The Modern Grimpressions Desk by GentleNight.
You can further add to the library ambiance of setting up a writing space by adding in The Tower of Tomes by Tell-Tale Arts to display all the books your Sims are reading. There’s also the That’s So Crow Bookends or The Macabre Writer’s Quill to add to your surfaces in the room, such as the Hey, This Shelf is a Ghost! hanging wall shelf. What better place to kick back and write, no matter if that’s a book, obituaries, or your Sim’s living will?
5
Best Hygiene Item: The Modern Grimpressions Bath By GentleNight
Who wouldn’t love a luxurious bath in a nice, spacious clawfoot tub? Your Sims can have just that now, with the addition of The Modern Grimpressions Bath by GentleNight. Though the Build/Buy mode description implies otherwise, we’d love a good bit of self-care in this tub, especially with some Tessellated Candles burning nearby on The Modern Grimpressions Pedestal by GentleNight.

If your Sims’ families are truly flush with cash, you could even make a fancier bathroom with a freestanding shower using The Modern Grimpressions Shower by GentleNight as well, since the tub and shower are available in the same 13 colors.
Toss in The Modern Grimpressions Bathroom Shelves by GentleNight to really tie the room together!

Best Indoor Decor: Ravenwood’s Pride Tarot Prints
If you’re a big collector when you play The Sims 4, then the tarot card collection tasks will definitely be for you! There are 26 tarot cards to collect by doing all sorts of things that have you exploring the breadth of the Life & Death expansion pack. Check out the Tarot Tome in each of Ravenwood’s three neighborhoods to find out a bit more about the tarot deck, as well as who the current members of The Order of Lenore are.
For Sims most passionate about these collections, or just those looking for some cool wall art, check out the Ravenwood’s Pride Tarot Prints. It’s available in 28 patterns, including all 26 tarot cards and some more general tarot-themed art. You don’t have to finish the tarot card collection in the Life & Death expansion, but it’s a fun side adventure to help you adjust to the new additions in the pack!
3
Grim Standard Ascendant Crow
There are already several kinds of pets your Sims can have between the various expansion packs (like Cats & Dogs or Horse Ranch), but if you’re looking for something a bit lower maintenance that keeps the creepy vibes coming, buy your Sims a Grim Standard Ascendant Crow to keep around the house.
Place it anywhere in your Sims’ home and be sure to check in on it often, feeding it and socializing to build your bonds, hopefully with kind social interactions if you know what’s good for you. And who knows? You might even get some cool little trinkets as gifts from your pet crow as long as you feed it, clean its perch, giving it gifts, and chatting often.
Crows that were purchased from the Mysterious Merchant don’t require traditional levels of care like the crows from Build/Buy mode. Waylon sells them for a bit more money than normal crows, but they don’t have a perch state or hunger need – they’re just here to be friends.
2
The New Grave Markers
Death is an inevitable part of life, and when it’s time for your Sim to go to the great hereafter, they’ll leave behind one of two kinds of remains. You’ll most typically see tombstones if they died outdoors, or urns if the death occurred inside. These options used to be standard, but the Life & Death expansion added tons of new options for your Sims to leave behind.
Even before factoring in all the unique new tombstones and urns for your occult Sims to remember their special abilities after their demise, you’ll find plenty of new options for tombstones and urns in Build/Buy. You can choose to leave your Sims’ remains at the cemetery in assorted styles of gravesite plots, or even inter them at one of the local crypts. Olive Specter’s graveyard is already vast enough; what’s one more set of human remains out front?

The Funerary Items
Nobody ever really wants to say goodbye to their loved ones, but when it comes time to do so, you’ll want to be sure to see them off with a loving bang. With the new funeral social event, you’re able to bring everyone together to celebrate the life of a departed Sim, and you’ll even notice them in attendance if their ghost remains on earth!
There are a couple of casket options to lay out for the event, as well as two different Memorial Ensemble tables available for both indoor and outdoor funerals. You can customize the colors of and decor on these memorial tables, even adding a portrait of the departed Sim to further personalize their final event.
You’ve got a few options for memorial displays, either pre-made or fully customizable. There are empty display tables available for purchase in Build/Buy if you’d like to add a more personal slew of items. On the pre-made tables, you’ll find things like the Scents You’ve Been Gone incense burner or the Ethereally Enigmatic Flowers, to name a few, each available in a number of colors to bring your departed Sim’s personality to their great goodbye.
