However, the Synergenex line of action figures from Hasbro and Takara Tomy has had Autobots and Decepticons turning into more than just vehicles and back again, and next to join the collection is a Megatron action figure that transforms into the world’s most famous lizard, Godzilla.
Between the Synergenex line of action figures and Godzilla celebrating its 70th anniversary, it makes a lot of sense to combine the two for a special toy that celebrates them both in one fell swoop. Well, technically two toys as Hasbro confirmed over the summer that both Megatron and Optimus Prime would be getting their own transforming Godzilla figures.

This is more than just a smash the two together and let’s make some money scenario too. There’s an entire backstory fueling the Transformers x Godzilla collab. Optimus and Megatron have scanned their respective monsters – Optimus’s action figure transforms into Mechagodzilla – so that they can battle each other in both their standard Transformer forms and also as iconic kaiju.

Pre-Orders For The New Synergenex Toy Are Now Open
While revealed, the Optimus x Mechagodzilla figure isn’t available to buy yet. Pre-orders for the Megatron x Godzilla Synergenex figure, on the other hand, are now open at the Big Bad Toy Store. That means the one thing we didn’t already know about the collaborative toy has now been confirmed – the price. It’s not as bad as you might have feared either, especially after the reveal of the $1,200 Megatron robot earlier this year.
The Megatron x Godzilla action figure is $64.99 and you can pre-order it now through the link in the box below. It’s more than eight inches tall and is naturally fully articulated so that it can easily transform from Megatron onto Godzilla and back again. It also comes equipped with matching accessories. An accessory that gives Godzilla its atomic breath and a blast effect that’s the same shade of blue for Megatron’s gun.

Hasbro and Takara Tomy have been combining Transformers characters with other series, and this action figure brings Megatron and Godzilla together. Part if the Synergenex toy line, the figure has lots of points of articulation so it can transform smoothly, and accessories for Godzilla’s atomic breath and Megatron’s blaster effect.
The only downside to this reveal is confirmation that despite pre-orders going live, the action figure won’t be released until September 2025. What makes that date reveal even worse is the reminder that the wait for Megtron’s Godzilla figure is still shorter than the wait for Rathalos Prime. The Transformers x Monster Hunter toy is the only other figure from the Synergenex line you can pre-order at the moment but it won’t start shipping until November 2025.
