Legendary Pokemon are renowned as some of the most powerful – and popular – Pokemon TCG cards, with trios like the Legendary Beasts often claiming some of the most valuable cards. The most valuable Raikou cards and Entei’s most expensive cards set high bars for Suicune to achieve, but the third member of the trio is ready to live up to the lofty expectations.

Thundurus and Tornadus fly above the competition in Emerging Powers.
While the prices for the best Entei, Raikou, and Suicune are always ebbing, flowing, and swapping places, there’s usually a clear choice for their most expensive offering, with Gold Stars often claiming the crown. Suicune’s best cards offer a tour of top vintage sets, including Aquapolis, Team Rocket Returns, Call Of Legends, and more to come below.
Cards are ordered according to their TCGPlayer Market Price, which you might pay on average for a copy of the (first edition, where applicable) cards below.
Given the age and rarity of these cards, only those with an established market price on TCGplayer are included.
However, sale prices differ depending on the card’s condition, so this market price is just a rough idea of the card’s value.

Suicune: Aquapolis (Holo Rare) – $155.21
A Swirling Starting Suicune
Suicune’s first entry among its most noteworthy cards offers an impressive way to start things off, as this card hails from Aquapolis, one of the best vintage Pokemon sets ever. Aside from its incredibly rare collection of cards that are difficult to find in near-mint (NM) condition, this set also boasts the chance to find swirl patterns in the background.
Swirls are whirlpool-like glitter on the background’s holographic pattern, which can distinguish one card from another, giving each a unique quality.
Sales of this card range from as little as $70 for a heavily played (HP) card, with moderately played (MP) copies offering the chance to own this Suicune for less than $100. However, lightly played (LP) copies will run into the $150 range, though there are no recent NM sales on TCGplayer to set the ceiling for now.

Suicune (Shiny): Call Of Legends (Shiny Holo Rare) – $200.00
A Burst Of Light Shining Bright
Suicune’s Shiny Holo Rare stands out among the most expensive cards in Call Of Legends, boasting a respectable $200 price tag to earn it a place among the best. This artwork offers the clearest view of every detail on Suicune’s leopard-like form, utilizing a blend of light and dark shading to highlight the gorgeous colors on this card.
While the market price looks impressive, most copies of this card will fall well short of it, as LP cards drop as low as $111, while only one NM sale reached $200, with another only managing $150. Despite the high market price, this card is likely to sell for less than the Suicune from Aquapolis in most instances.

Suicune ex: Team Magma vs Team Aqua (Ultra Rare) – $242.62
A Battle For Supremacy
Team Magma vs Team Aqua’s most valuable cards offer fantastic illustrations of many Pokemon from the first three generations, but this set is often forgotten among the best in the Pokemon TCG.

Much like the previous entry, this Team Magma vs Team Aqua Suicune offers a curious case, as the market price only applies to copies of this card in NM condition. Other sales of this card in MP condition barely manage $87 in most cases, with NM sales ranging from $170 to $242.
3
Rocket’s Suicune ex: Team Rocket Returns (Ultra Rare) – $249.95
A Dark Appeal
Some of the best Ream Rocket cards often come with the “Dark” moniker attached, but those from Team Rocket Returns are directly referred to as allies of Team Rocket. While the distinction is primarily in name, both subsets offer darker depictions of popular Pokemon like Suicune, highlighting their evil associations with Team Rocket.
The market price trend continues, but luckily, this Suicune justifies its placement above the previous entries, as LP copies boast sales at $199, while an NM copy of this card reached as much as the market price. If you’re looking for a discount for an MP copy, you’ll be happy to know you can find them for about $110.
2
Suicune: Neo Revelation First Edition (Holo Rare) – $279.00
Serene In The Shadows
Neo Revelation’s roster of impressive Pokemon makes it one of the most desirable Pokemon sets of all time, with the first edition printing representing the more expensive version. Regardless of edition, this Suicune’s art illustrates a calm moment of this Pokemon cloaked in dark blue shadows, depicting a similar scene to the Team Rocket Returns version.
Finding this card in the first edition can be challenging, with HP copies starting at $135, followed by MP copies at $165. Once you get into LP, you’re looking at price tags closer to $275, with no NM sales on TCGplayer to set the upper bounds of this exceptional Suicune card.

Suicune: Unseen Forces (Ultra Rare) – $311.25
Top Honors Energy
The superbly valuable Gold Star Suicune from Unseen Forces claims its rightful spot as the best Suicune card in the Pokemon TCG, beating several worthy challengers to the throne.
This is one of Suicune’s most iconic illustrations, capturing the Pokemon amid an elegant flourish.
This card is a great example of a card you might find for the market price, as HP copies start at $199, followed by recent LP sales from $250 to $275. However, NM gets very volatile, with one sale clocking in at $287.50 while another soared to $650, likely in the hopes of grading the card and selling it for more.
