Muldrotha, The Gravetide

One of the best Sultai commanders around, the fractured foil version of this monstrous Elemental is bound to go for a high value among players and collectors. This Commander all-star lets you play a land and cast a permanent spell of each type from your graveyard each turn.

This means you can utilize your graveyard as a type of secondhand, with cards that have sacrifice-based effects being particularly strong. Sagas are a fun card type to play with Muldrotha as well, since you can almost immediately recycle them.

Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator

Showcase Fractured Foil – $151.13

Kaito, Cunning Infiltrator is a brand-new planeswalker coming in Foundations and with it comes some very strong abilities. Kaito has a passive ability that lets you add loyalty counters to him anytime a creature you control deals combat damage to another player, letting you hit that -9 final ability faster.

The artwork for Kaito also features a special little kami in tanuki form. That little buddy is named Himoto, also known as Pompon thanks to Kaito, and is the Kami of the Spark, though their origins are pretty mysterious.

Doubling Season

Showcase – $160.07

Surprising no one, Doubling Season finds itself among the most valuable cards in the set, not just once, but twice thanks to a reprint that the card always seems to need. This iteration of the counter doubling card comes loaded with a ton of little kitties, immediately making it a collector piece for players.

Perhaps the best part is the little calico cat right near the set symbol for the card, which makes it look like the cat has a big star on its chest. It is likely 100 percent unintentional, but it looks adorable nonetheless.

Progenitus

Showcase Fractured Foil – $162.69

Have you ever faced down a Progenitus? This monstrous card has some of the best protection in the game, having protection from quite literally everything. All 36,000 plus cards do absolutely nothing to it, and now you can own a very beautiful version of it.

Of course, the only real way to deal with Progenitus is with a board wipe of some kind, but, even then, if it goes into the graveyard you just shuffle it back into your deck. The downside is that you can’t touch Progenitus either, but does that really matter when you can shut down the game in a swing or two?

Day Of Judgment

Speaking of board wipes we have one of the best to ever grace Magic, Day of Judgement. This four-mana white sorcery does just one thing but does it well. It blows up all creatures once it resolves.

The artwork for this iteration of the card is absolutely gorgeous, with the massive Dragon coming down on the young and lonesome knight, with the very earth being torn asunder as the Dragon breathes fire down on them. With Day of Judgement back in Standard, creature-based decks will have a tough time finding a foothold for quite some time.

Bloodthirsty Conqueror

Showcase Fractured Foil – $208.97

Look at this absolutely stunning card from artist Raita Kazama. The Bloodthirsty Conqueror is floating slightly above the perspective of the card, positioned like you would be looking up at this majestic creature seconds before your demise.

This card is a combo machine as well as beautiful, which only adds insult to injury when you are utterly decimated from every easy-to-assemble combo with plenty of life loss cards in Magic. Partner this card with Sanguine Bond, and you have a nigh-unstoppable chain reaction that will drain your opponents of all their remaining life.

Herald Of Eternal Dawn

The fractured foil cards are some of the coolest Magic: The Gathering has ever released, with some of the most intricate artwork the card game has ever seen. With Herald of Eternal Dawn, you get a very strong card paired with some of the best artwork in the set.

The Herald will keep you alive once you would lose the game, while also preventing your opponent from winning the game. While other cards have similar effects in Magic, the Herald is the only one you can snap in at instant speed this way.

Twinflame Tyrant

The artwork for Twinflame Tyrant features the titular Dragon with both its heads out to hunt its prey, a lone soldier or explorer who was unfortunate enough to find themselves before this titanic beast. Even if you’re not in a Dragon-based deck, this card is going to have some strong ramifications on the game once you play it.

A bit of an anomaly, the fractured foil Llanowar Elves is the only common card in the main Foundations set that gets such a beautiful rendition, giving it a huge upgrade in rarity, all the way up to the mythic rarity.

Llanowar Elves deserve it through, as it has been at the center of plenty of decks for years, having been around since Magic’s earliest days. With the reprinting of the card in Standard for the first time in years, it gives the Elves a chance to shine with their fantastic new card.
