- Adding this mini-game to Destiny 2’s Tower could bring fresh gameplay and create a link between the two games.
Destiny: Rising is an upcoming mobile game by NetEase, set in the world of Destiny but in an alternate timeline. While it has only had a closed alpha test so far, Destiny: Rising is on the road to release and will offer dedicated fans and newcomers a way to enjoy the world of Destiny on the go.
Destiny: Rising aims to tell an original Destiny story, and it plans to do so using the franchise’s gameplay, lore, and its most recognizable features. However, there is plenty new that’s coming to Destiny via Destiny: Rising, including a charming little mini-game that should arguably find its way over to Destiny 2 at some point for some unconventional fun.

Destiny: Rising’s ‘Go! Ghost Go!’ Mini-Game Should Make the Leap to Destiny 2
‘Go! Ghost Go!’ Is Essentially Destiny: Rising’s ‘Flappy Bird’
Go! Ghost Go! is by far one of Destiny: Rising‘s most charming features, as it takes several of the franchise’s most recognizable features, including the music, and smashes them into a retro-style jumping game similar to Dong Nguyen’s Flappy Bird or Nintendo’s Super Mario Run. As its name suggests, Go! Ghost Go! is a Destiny: Rising mini-game that stars the beloved titular Destiny icon in a getaway dash as it attempts to outrun and outmaneuver a Fallen Captain. As it is with many running and jumping mobile games, the goal of Go! Ghost Go! is to obtain a high score, which can be done by reaching long distances, destroying objects and enemies, and collecting Light.
Gameplay in Go! Ghost Go! is simple, as it requires players to merely tap the screen to jump. Tapping once will make Ghost jump, tapping twice will make Ghost double-jump, and tapping a third time will make Ghost dive toward the ground, destroying whatever it makes contact with or potentially dying if it hits the wrong type of obstacle. The further Ghost gets in a game, the more obstacles come into its path, and the more difficult the game becomes. If players manage to achieve a high enough score, they can obtain a reward, like a decent pile of Glimmer to spend on upgrades and other materials.
Go! Ghost Go! also features an 8-bit version of the original
Destiny
theme song for an added bit of retro immersion.
Once players die or reach the end of their game, they’ll get a chance to glance at the current leaderboards for the game, which hilariously featured Rasputin at the top during Destiny: Rising‘s alpha test, with a score of over 700 million. Once the game finally releases, it’s assumed that the leaderboard will feature scores from players around the world to ignite some friendly competition among the Destiny: Rising community. It’s currently unclear whether there will be any in-game rewards for topping the leaderboard for Go! Ghost Go!, but it’s likely not out of the question.
‘Go! Ghost Go!’ Would Make an Excellent Addition to Destiny 2’s Tower
Destiny 2 is far from short on activities for players to do, but it is lacking in cozy mini-games similar to Go! Ghost Go!. As such, there is an argument for Go! Ghost Go! to make its way from Destiny: Rising over to Destiny 2, perhaps even accessible via a terminal in the Tower. There, players could compete with one another, with the game potentially even dishing out a weekly prize to the top scorer. It would be a great way to break up the current gameplay loop and give Destiny 2 players something different to do that they’re not used to, and it would simultaneously connect Destiny 2 to Destiny: Rising.
