Not long into the main story of Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Storybook Vale, you will be given the choice of which biome you unlock next. If you unlock Mythopia first, you will get a quest that unlocks Hades. When that quest is completed, Hades will be unlocked as a villager. Rather than having to reach Friendship Level 2 with Hades, you unlock his first friendship quest right away.
In his first quest, Mythic Restoration, Hades is furious about the state of Mythopia. Rather than dealing with the mess himself, he tasks you with cleaning it all up along with the redecoration.

There are several ways to make money in Disney Dreamlight Valley; for those looking to turn some serious profits, here are the best crops to sell.
Gather Resources For Hades
All the resources you need to gather for the first part of this quest are conveniently all found in Mythopia. You will need to gather the following items.
- Three Crimson Eternal Poppies
- Five Posidonia plants
- 10 Gravel
Crimson Eternal Poppies are scattered all over the Elysian Fields and Mount Olympus. Gravel can be gathered by digging holes in either Elysian Fields, Mount Olympus, the Statue’s Shadow, or the Fiery Plains. Posidonia is the Mythopia equivalent of Seaweed in Dreamlight Valley or Plastic on Eternity Isle. To get Posidonia, fish in Mythopia but don’t fish from the ripples that you would normally use to get fish.
If you want to fish up Posidonia faster, consider bringing a villager along who has the fishing
as their companion role
.
Return to Hades
After you have obtained everything you need, talk to Hades. He will take the items and will upgrade your Royal Pickaxe. This upgrade will allow you to destroy the chunks of Marble scattered across Mythopia. In addition to the 10 chunks of Marble that you need to get rid of, you will also be tasked with using the new royal tool to catch five Demon Snippets.
The first time you try to catch a Demon Snippet, it will teleport away. Follow the line it leaves behind and then use the tool again. Your second attempt to catch the slippery little entity will go much better as long as you are at just the right range. When you’ve cleaned up the area a bit, find Hades and talk to him again.
Craft Some Statues
With Mythopia cleared out, the area feels a bit empty. Hades sees this as an opportunity to decorate the place in his image. To craft the statues of Hades, you must gather four Marble, four Gold Nuggets, and four Magma. Marble is easily found when mining in Mythopia. Gold Nuggets can be found when mining from anywhere in Mythopia along with mining in the Sunlit Plateau, Frosted Heights, and the Forgotten Lands.
The trickiest of these items is the Magma. While you get it from mining in all areas of Mythopia, it has a very low chance of spawning. As such, this step can take awhile in spite of the fact that you only need four Magma. When you’ve gathered all the materials, you will have enough to craft four statues.
After making the statues, they can be placed anywhere in Mythopia. It doesn’t matter where you put them or how you arrange them, just make sure they are in Mythopia. If a statue is too close to the border between Mythopia and another biome, you won’t get credit, and you will need to move that statue. When you are satisfied with the placement of the statues, talk to Hades.
Go Incognito
Hades wants to know what people really think, as he thinks the villagers are going to be too nice. To that end, he requests that you disguise yourself and listen in at the Library of Lore. At this stage of the quest, you will see a quest tab under your Wardrobe that will show you exactly what clothes you have that would meet the criteria for this quest. It doesn’t matter what you wear as long as it has the following colors/styles in it:
- Rustic Clothing
- Green Clothing
- Brown Clothing
Some clothes can fit all three criteria. For example, wearing the Cozy Blue-Green Sweater is enough to progress this quest. Once your outfit is ready, head to the main chamber of the Library of Lore where the Lorekeeper is. Groups of villagers will enter and two of them will start talking about the statues.
After you have overheard both conversations, speak with the Lorekeeper. The book will tell you the location of the Lightning Machine and will also mention one important detail: you need five Lightning Spice to power it. Lightning Spice can be gathered from Mythopia, and it’s usually found in abundance.
Once you have the Lightning Spice, head to the East Wing of the Library of Lore. The device is in a small side room next to the globe. Interact with it and then insert five Lightning Spice. Talk to Hades one last time to complete this quest.
