As the latest tall Electro male character in Genshin Impact, Ororon might be better than what players may expect. He’s somewhat comparable to Fischl from a Sub DPS POV and is extremely versatile in a lot of teams.
Like most Natlan characters, activating his Nightsoul Blessing can be extremely beneficial, so it would help Genshin Impact players familiarize themselves better with the new Natlan mechanics and how Ororon’s Nightsoul points can be accumulated during battle.

Ororon is a straightforward sub-DPS and support, which enables him to be built quite easily and versatile due to less min-maxing needs.
5 Using Random Rotation
One thing Genshin Impact players should be aware of is that Ororon shines as a Sub DPS off-field attack unit. His kit is built to target multiple enemies and work hand-in-hand with your Main DPS. If you’re using a Hydro unit in the team (which is a must with Ororon), a rotation would go like this:
- Main DPS Burst > Support Skill > Ororon Skill > Ororon Burst > Switch back to Main DPS Skill and attack
4 Not Using A Hydro Component
As free to build as any character in Genshin Impact should be, most characters in the game shine properly when they are used to their maximum capability. For Ororon, his specialty lies in Electro-Charged attacks and the amazing Electro DMG output they can create. This means you need to have a Hydro character in your team should you plan to use him.

Ororon is an Electro Sub DPS unit in Genshin Impact that specializes in reactionary off-field DMG.
This Hydro character can either be your Main DPS or support, but as long as Hydro application is included, you will be able to properly maximize his skills. Similarly, this also works in Hyperbloom teams with Alhaitham as the driver and Nahida as the Dendro applicator.
3 Using Wrong Artifacts
Quite frankly, because of Ororon’s Sub DPS skills, players might think it’s safe to stack either ATK or Crit on him. But, because you want to keep his skill as active for as long as possible, Ororon will need an artifact set that helps him regenerate Energy. Using something like Thundering Fury might be alright, but Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is perfect for any Natlan character. The 4-pc works wonders on the massive Elemental DMG Bonus that party members receive from the Elemental reactions that are created.
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City is also catered toward Ororon’s kit, since these effects work for off-field DMG as well. Any elemental reaction that is of the same type as the equipped character is what you’re looking for — plus, the Electro-Charged reactions further trigger his Nightsoul Blessing, creating even more damage to surrounding enemies.
2 Not Using Ororon In Exploration
Genshin Impact players should know by now that all Natlan characters are tailor-made for exploration across the land. For Ororon, his Elemental Skill allows him to perform a Double Jump and fly up into the air. He consumes Phlogiston points when doing so, but the difference between Ororon and other Natlan characters is that when the Phlogiston bar runs out, he consumes stamina to fly instead. This makes for longer and easier exploration across Natlan.
1 Not Taking Advantage Of Ororon’s Nightsoul Blessing
Unlike other Natlan characters, Ororon has a rather unique Nightsoul Blessing state. It can be easily triggered off-field, and once he has accumulated enough Nightsoul points, Ororon’s Hypersense Effect will continuously deal Electro DMG based on his ATK to any nearby enemies. There are multiple ways in which Ororon can obtain the Nightsoul points and use the buffed effects:
- When another party member deals Hydro or Electro DMG while Ororon’s Skill is active
- When another party member triggers his Nightsoul Burst state
