Logitech Pits New Hall-Effect Magnetic Keyboard Against Razer, Wooting Alternatives

Logitech has rolled out its first keyboard with analog Hall effect switches, the Pro X TKL Rapid. Announced back in September, the new mechanical keyboard is packed with the full suite of Hall effect-powered features, including Rapid Trigger, customizable actuation points, and Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions (SOCD), to compete with top analog gaming keyboards from Wooting and Razer. Gamers can order the Pro X TKL Rapid today directly from Logitech for $170.

Analog gaming keyboards gained a lot of momentum after the release of the Wooting 60HE, two years ago. Unlike standard mechanical keyboards, gamers with an analog keyboard can customize the key travel distance to as low as 0.1 mm for ultra-responsive key presses. This drastically reduces latency compared to other keyboards with a typical 2mm travel distance. Many brands have since copied the Wooting 60HE, including Razer, SteelSeries, and Corsair. The latest to join the fray is Logitech, with its new Pro X TKL Rapid.

Wooting’s SOCD feature makes your aim better in FPS games

The new SOCD feature enhances aim in FPS games with faster movement control, giving gamers a competitive edge. Here’s how!

The Pro X TKL Rapid is a tenkeyless wired keyboard featuring in-house magnetic analog (linear) switches and double-shot PBT keycaps. Like the Wooting 60HE and 80HE, it offers a 0.1 to 4.0 mm actuation range, allowing gamers to customize the actuation point for each key. For instance, you can set the WASD keys to activate at 0.1 mm or 0.6 mm for fast and precise movements in games like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant. There’s also the groundbreaking rapid trigger feature, which resets the key the moment you lift it off, rather than waiting for it to pass through an actuation point.

One of the standout features of the Logitech Pro X TKL Rapid compared to other Hall effect keyboards is that you can adjust the actuation points and rapid trigger settings on the fly, without needing an app.

Along with rapid trigger, you’re also getting Key Priority, Logitech’s implementation of SOCD, similar to Wooting’s Rappy Snappy and Razer’s Snap Tap. You can set up the Pro X TKL Rapid to prioritize the last pressed key or the travel distance when you press two keys simultaneously, making counter-strafing snappier and easier to master. If you want to take it to the next level, Logitech allows you to set up different actions at different actuation points through G HUB, so you could equip a grenade on light press, then throw it when that same key is fully pressed.

The Logitech Pro X TKL Rapid Pricing, Availability, and the Competition

Logitech has kept the price of the Pro X TKL Rapid reasonable at $170, despite featuring all the latest Hall effect features. This makes it more affordable than the $175 Wooting 60HE and $180 Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, both 60% keyboards. If you’re looking for a similar TKL analog keyboard, the Corsair K70 PRO TKL is an excellent alternative, but it’s also a little pricier at $180. Wooting and Razer offer TKL Hall effect keyboards too, but they cost over $200, making them significantly more expensive than the Logitech.

The Logitech PRO X TKL RAPID is Logitech’s first Hall Effect keyboard, offering all the features you can expect from the new wave of gaming keyboards, including Rapid Trigger, customizable actuation, SOCD, and more. It’s also more affordable than the analog offerings from Wooting and Razer.

If you’re looking for a gaming keyboard with rapid trigger features and analog switches, the Pro X TKL Rapid is an excellent pick for $170. It offers great features beyond its Hall effect switches, such as dedicated media keys, a volume dial, beautiful RGB backlighting, solid build quality, and intuitive software. You can purchase the Pro X TKL Rapid directly from Logitech or Amazon UK for £170, though the keyboard will likely also be available on Amazon US soon. The package includes the keyboard, a USB-C to USB-A cable, and documentation.
