Hunter X Hunter has shown time and again why it’s one of the best ongoing manga, and fans couldn’t be happier that the manga is still ongoing, with no sign of it slowing down for the time being. Togashi’s Succession War arc has only been getting more interesting, and it is definitely the most complex arc seen so far in the series.

Borksen Plays With Morena a Card Game

Togashi made quite an interesting addition to the current plot in HxH 407. Fans already knew that Morena was after a member of Tserriednich’s personal army, and thus had sent Dogman and Sodom to handle the ordeal. While fans didn’t get to see how Borksen, the member of Tserriednich’s group, was exactly kidnapped, they got to see a whole chapter surrounding her and Morena when she was taken to the hideout.

Togashi showcased a new card game he invented just for this very purpose. This game is most likely someone’s Nen ability in the Heil-Ly. HxH 407 explained all the rules of this game, which means that Hunter x Hunter 408 will showcase the two of them, Morena and Borksen, playing the game.

As it has been explained by Morena, the longer the game goes on, the more dangerous it gets for everyone involved. What she meant by that isn’t all that clear, but it’s possible that HxH 408 will expand upon that.

Morena has seven cards in this game, as she is playing as the parent. Meanwhile, Borksen will choose one of these cards next in HxH 408. As she can see the cards, the decision is fully in her control. It’s possible that the first pick of Borksen will be the cards pertaining to Morena’s power or aim. Borksen will definitely want to learn more about her enemy, especially if she is to stand a chance to win this card game.

Borksen will also have to choose one of the cards on her own side, which Morena has allowed. Borksen’s cards are all facing down, so Borksen will have no idea what she’s picking as it’s completely up to luck. That means that whatever she picks will be completely random.

Chrollo Looks For His Treasure in HxH Chapter 408

Chrollo is After the Kakin National Treasure

While the focus in HxH 407 has been taken away from Chrollo, this man will still probably play a significant role in the upcoming Hunter x Hunter chapter 408. The last time he was seen in the manga, he asserted his current goal, which was to find and steal the three Kakin national treasures. When he succeeds with his heist, he will then be able to evolve Skill Hunter and steal a powerful and rare Nen ability – one that he can use to kill Hisoka for good in their next battle. Chrollo was also using Love Dial 6700 while trying to locate someone.

HxH chapter 408 could feature Chrollo. Chrollo wanted to go to the tier above, as that’s where the person he is trying to locate is. It’s unknown who this person he’s after is, but Togashi could soon reveal that person’s identity, which some people believe could even be Kurapika.

Chrollo will also have to find some clues about the location of the Kakin treasures, which he theorizes are on Tier 1 of the Black Whale. Whether the treasures are all hidden together or each in its own location will be up to Chrollo to discover. The person he is after could have insight into where these treasures are hidden, and this could get Chrollo closer to his goal. This goal still feels very far, however, as stealing the treasures is only the first step. Chrollo also has to steal the ability to kill Hisoka. This could all take quite some chapters for him to achieve.

The Phantom Troupe in Action in Hunter X Hunter Chapter 408

While Chrollo is often the most exciting Phantom Troupe member to see in action, the rest of the troupe is very much involved in the current arc and many events surrounding it. The most interesting Spiders besides Chrollo right now would definitely be the Spider Trio, now split up. Nobunaga, Feitan, and Phinks were acting together for quite some chapters, but now, Nobunaga has gone his own way. What Nobunaga is currently up to is not quite clear, however, he could definitely run into Hinrigh and other Xi-Yu members, who are currently quite unhappy with the Troupe due to the killing of Lynch. This could turn out badly for him.

Meanwhile, Feitan and Phinks are heading towards the Heil-Ly hideout. Whether they’ll even make it there isn’t a certainty, now that the transmitter left there by Hinright has turned back to its original form after running out of Nen. However, the two of them will still try their best to reach that location. If they do manage that, they could very well interrupt the current card game going on there between Morena and Borksen. It’s unclear how an outsider could stop the game, but the role of these two will have to be seen as they confront Heil-Ly, especially as they can only act in self-defense as otherwise, they will be kicked out. Even if the two reach Morena, this will not be able to end her as she still has a huge role to play.

And, of course, when speaking of the Phantom Troupe, Bonolenov has been quite an interesting one. He is staying close to Hisoka as he has located him. But the reality might be that he is being baited by Hisoka. These could be Bonolenov’s last chapters as he becomes the next kill for Hisoka. If Bonolenov is to die now, it could send Chrollo into even more of a rage, and make him determined to kill Hisoka for good. Bonolenov will not be Hisoka’s last victim either.
