Once you start exploring the map of Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, you’ll quickly realize just how big The Zone really is. It takes you a good chunk of time to even move from one location to another in the same area, and this time multiplies when you have to travel through various regions.

Sometimes it’s better to explore a vast, open world with a few close friends, rather than go at it alone.
No one wants to spend half their hours in the game going between important places, which is why fast travel is an important mechanic. While this mechanic does exist in the game, you might not be making much use of it.
How To Use Fast Travel In Stalker 2
When you see a map as big as The Zone in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, you’d expect various fast travel points scattered all over the area. While this is somewhat true, the mechanic in this game works a little differently. Instead of looking for structures that let you fast travel, you’ll be looking for NPCs that are called guides.
These NPCs can be found in every major settlement, and at least one of these exist in almost every region. To locate them, simply zoom in on the map once you’re in the settlement and click on the guide marker to highlight it, which will start showing it on your scale. You can then follow it easily.
If the guide is above or below you, you’ll see an upward or downward arrow respectively when the icon is in the middle of your scale at the top.
Once you reach a guide, you can interact with them to trigger the introduction dialogue and then select the option with [Guide] in it to start the fast travel. Keep in mind that this option will only appear once you have at least two bases unlocked, and you might have to progress the story in the area to unlock it in some cases.
As you unlock the guide feature in an area, you can spend a few coupons to teleport to any region you want. Activating this teleport will put you near the guide of the base you teleported to. As you can already tell, the fast travel mechanic is quite restrictive, and you’ll still have to make your way on foot for the most part.
