It’ll not take long after you enter The Zone in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl for you to get showered with various items, especially if you’re someone who checks every nook and cranny. Apart from many different types of ammo, the game also gives you medkits, bandages, and other survival items apart from some lore items.

Best Linear Games That Feel Open World
Whether it’s because it has many different paths or side-objectives, some games FEEL like they’re open world, even though they’re as linear as they come!
It might feel nice to get all this gear at the start, but it’ll soon start overwhelming you as it fills up your backpack. The game has a limited inventory, and managing it can be quite difficult, making it important to find ways to increase it.
How Inventory Works In Stalker 2
While playing Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, you can find almost everything through your PDA except your inventory, which requires you to press a specific button. When this button is pressed, your character brings out a backpack and puts his hand inside, which opens the menu to show the current items you have.
You can see your equipped guns, armor, and artifacts in the middle while the rest of the items can be seen on the right. If you open the inventory by checking another body or a backpack, the items there will be displayed on the left. Below your items on the right, you can see your maximum weight bar.
While the maximum weight is 80 by default, this bar is still divided into three colors ranging from different weight values.
Essentially, you’ll reach the yellow bar if you have over 55 kgs of items in your inventory, which will make the encumbered icon appear above your HP bar. When this happens, you’ll start using more stamina for running and jumping while your sprinting speed itself will decrease, and both of these depend on how overweight you are.
Ideally, you’d want to keep your weight in the green zone, which essentially limits your inventory to around 55 kgs by default. You can always put the extra items in your private storage across every base or sell them to various traders on your way.
How To Increase Your Inventory
Unfortunately, this game is quite restrictive when it comes to inventory, and doesn’t have a lot of methods to increase your storage space. There are mainly two methods to do this:
- As you explore the lands, you can get some artifacts that can give you extra maximum weight in exchange for lower radiation resistance. These usually have low, medium, high, etc. written on them, and a medium weight increase puts your weight at 86 kgs.
- Alternatively, you can sometimes find an item called Hercules, which can increase your weight by 20 for 300 seconds. This item is mostly found in areas where the game gives you a heavy item that’s necessary for you to carry.
