Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is here at last, letting us live in this post-apocalyptic nightmare to our heart’s content, which we will happily do via side quests, exploration, and fighting mutants and Bloodsuckers. Despite being a bit rough around the edges, this game delivers on all those things expertly, especially if you’re a fan of the previous entries.

““It’s about Chernobyl. It’s about Ukraine. It belongs to our culture. We can tell stories here.”
The short and sweet side quest Warlock’s Debtor is a great way to break in your experience with Stalker 2, tasking you to collect Credits from a young Stalker that Warlock lent them a while back, leading to interesting choices and encounters that give you glimpses of what awaits you as you progress further into the unforgiving Exclusion Zone.
How To Start Warlock’s Debtor In Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl
Following the main quest and reaching Zalissya for the first time will have you meet Gaffer, triggering a brief cutscene and interaction. After this, Warlock will call you over, allowing you to take him up on his offer or walk right past him and continue following the critical path.
Talk To Warlock
Approach Warlock and begin talking to him until you reach the first dialogue option, asking him if he has any jobs available. He will tell you about Valik Lummox, a young Stalker who ran up a tab and never paid it. Naturally, he wants you to be the one to track Valik down and have him pay off his debt.
Accept this mission, having Warlock warn you that he doesn’t want you to kill or injure Valik. He just wants you to scare him and teach him a lesson about how things work in the Zone. With all that done, it’s time to set out to find Valik and get Warlock his money back.
Find Valik Lummox In Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl
After speaking with Warlock, he will tell you that Valik was last seen at the Water Tower just north of Zalissya. Follow the waymark on your compass until you see a building and the Water Tower in the distance, then slow down as you will soon find some company awaiting you as you near it.
Talk To Dima Dope
As you get closer to the Water Tower and the warehouse beside it, you will run into a group of Bandits led by a man named Dima Dope, who will stop you and question you about your intentions. Seeing as both of you are after Valik, he will try to cut you a deal, telling you to go inside and force him out so they can deal with him.
Again, Warlock doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him, so we strongly advise against feeding him to the Bandits. Instead, select the “Don’t tell me what to do” option, then prepare to fend off the group of Bandits in the area. There are three Bandits, including Dima, at the front of the building and a lone straggler toward the back.
Eliminate the four Bandits and loot their bodies to receive ammunition, healing supplies, and new weapons. Then, make your way toward the doorway to have Valik exit and greet you.
Talk To Valik Lummox
Rescuing Valik Lummox from the group of Bandits will have him exit the warehouse and begin talking to you. Continue talking to him until you get the dialogue choice to tell him to “Pay Warlock what you owe him,” as you will also get a cut of those Credits.
Valik will agree to send the Credits to Warlock, instantly putting 900 Credits into your pocket and completing the Warlock’s Debtor mission in the process. However, if you asked him additional questions, you may have gotten a hint about where his Stash is located and what’s potentially inside of it.
Where To Find Valik Lummox’s Stash In Stalker: Heart Of Chornobyl
If you exhausted all dialogue options with Valik Lummox, you likely heard him mention how he wanted to get the jump on Dima Dope by sitting on top of the Water Tower with his scoped rifle but didn’t have time to position himself before he showed up.
So, go to the enormous Water Tower beside the warehouse and begin climbing its long ladder until you reach the top. Once you finally arrive at the top, you will see a bag near the center of it. Loot Valik’s Stash to find a Scoped AKS-74 and 45 rounds of ammunition for it.
This weapon is also in perfect condition, so it won’t have to be repaired for a while. It’s also very powerful, making it a valuable addition to your arsenal this early on. You can also take it to Lens in Zalissya and have him upgrade it further, making it even more of a powerhouse!
