““It’s about Chernobyl. It’s about Ukraine. It belongs to our culture. We can tell stories here.”
And the Invisible Nets side mission is one such mission, allowing you to work with Gaffer and Richter to reactivate an old tower to track Squint’s position in hopes of reaching him before the Ward does. While it’s not the most significant departure from the story, it adds a lot to the general world-building, which is always lovely to see!
How To Start Invisible Nets In Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl
Making your way to Zalissya for the first time will allow you to explore the town, eventually having you stumble upon Gaffer’s house, where you can eavesdrop on him a bit from outside. Make your way inside the house and approach Gaffer to have him ask what you want, allowing you to ask him about Solder.
Gaffer will then ask you to reactivate the tower in town to help pinpoint Squint’s location to get to him before the Ward does in exchange for information on Solder, giving you the choice to accept the mission or decline it outright. Accepting to turn the tower back on will begin Invisible Nets.
Gaffer’s house is near the inn and Lens’ shop, so make sure you pass by it to hear them talking about Squint, allowing you to enter and begin the process for this mission. It is possible to miss this mission completely if you progress the story too far, so don’t finish Needle In A Haystack before accepting this quest!
How To Activate The Tower In Zalissya
After accepting the mission from Gaffer, remain in Zalissya and look for the large tower in town that towers over everything. You cannot miss it. Follow the blue marker on your compass to get up close to it, then climb the series of ladders until you reach the top of it.
A lever you can throw will be at the top of the tower. Activate the lever to have part of the tower catch fire, signaling it no longer works. You didn’t think things would be that easy, did you? From here, Gaffer, Richter, and Lens will mention a nearby ARMS Antenna that should get the job done.
So, in order to find out where Squint is holed up and to gather more information on Solder, you must find and activate the ARMS Antenna. But don’t worry, it’s not too challenging!
How To Activate The ARMS Antenna
Climb down from the tower and begin following the blue marker on your compass west until you reach a small building with a satellite-looking thing sticking on top of it. This is your ARMS Antenna. Begin approaching the building to have a pack of Blind Dogs suddenly ambush you.
Focus on the Blind Dogs first, as there will be about five of them in total, all of which will chase you down and relentlessly attack you, making it near impossible to reach the ARMS Antenna. They don’t take much to kill but can be challenging to hit. Be patient, line up your shots, and take them all down, healing if need be before moving on.
Activate The ARMS Antenna
With the Blind Dogs taken care of, walk inside the small building with the ARMS Antenna and look for a slanted plank of wood leaning against the brick wall. Stand in front of this piece of wood and slowly begin walking up it until you’re standing on the brick wall.
Once you’re here, turn around to face the metal roof with the ARMS Antenna and perform a running leap to get onto the roof. From here, walk to the back of the ARMS Antenna and throw the lever to activate it, receiving a call from Gaffer and the rest of the crew to congratulate you on your efforts.
This will allow them to track the position of Squint, having them keep their word and give you more information on Solder. Furthermore, you will also receive 700 Coupons for your efforts, which is a pretty good deal if you ask us, considering this isn’t that long of a mission!
