Early data from the Genshin Impact beta servers has revealed that Arlecchino will be accompanying Mavuika and Citlali on the Event Banners in Version 5.3. It’s no secret that Genshin Impact is releasing one of its most important updates on January 1, 2025. Version 5.3 will not only feature the finale of Natlan’s Archon Quest, but the update is also set to introduce four new playable characters: Mavuika, Citlali, Lan Yan, and the Pyro Traveler. While players will have to obtain the Pyro Traveler in a unique way, the other three characters will be found on the Event Banners during the patch.

The Event Banners have been rather stacked in the past few updates, as the road to Version 5.3 featured Chasca, Lyney, Neuvillette, and Zhongli. Mavuika’s flashy animations and powerful ability kit have only increased her hype, as many fans can’t wait to spend their pulls on the Pyro Archon. On the other hand, Citlali in Genshin Impact shouldn’t be underestimated, as her ability kit promises plenty of utility and off-field Cryo damage.

After much speculation and rumors, a recent leak gives Genshin Impact players their first look into Citlali’s full ability kit as a Cryo Support.

According to the datamining efforts of HomDGCat, Version 5.3 will feature Mavuika, Arlecchino, Citlali, and an unknown 5-star character on its Event Banners. The 4-star characters in Version 5.3 are shown to be Chevreuse, Rosaria, and Bennett, seemingly attached to Arlecchino. Assuming the data won’t be changed until launch, it can safely be surmised that Arlecchino and her 4-stars will feature alongside Mavuika in Genshin Impact, as Lan Yan is expected to only debut during the Lantern Rite. This makes a preliminary list for the banner characters of Version 5.3 possible.

While their weapon types are fundamentally incompatible with each other, the Signature Weapons of Arlecchino and Mavuika have tremendous value. On the other hand, Citlali is likely sharing her phase with a Liyue 5-star due to the upcoming Lantern Rite. If one were to look at the dialogue count for the Lantern Rite, Xiao is the most likely candidate to join Citlali. That being said, Xianyun is the star of the Beetle Brawl event in 2025, on top of being a Special Guest character in the Imaginarium Theater. As such, it wouldn’t be out of the question for Xianyun to feature alongside Citlali.

There is always the possibility that someone like Ganyu will make a return to the Event Banners, but it’s become obvious that Genshin Impact is currently prioritizing new characters at the expense of old ones. With both Shenhe and Ganyu having gone over 500 days without a rerun, the need for Triple Banners in Genshin Impact has become more pressing than ever before.
