Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Mavuika's Ability Kit

Key Takeaways

  • According to a leak, Mavuika in Genshin Impact will offer gameplay with a focus on Battle Will and Nightsoul points.
  • Energy Recharge is not key for Mavuika’s Elemental Burst, emphasizing Normal Attacks and Nightsoul points instead.
  • While she complements Bennett and Xiangling, Mavuika stands out for the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City and her valuable support role.

Recent information from the beta servers for Version 5.3 has finally given Genshin Impact players a detailed overview of Mavuika’s ability kit. While Genshin Impact has accrued over 90 playable characters over the course of its history, the Archons and Harbingers tend to stand in a tier of their own – both in terms of their playstyle and in terms of the excitement that they generate among fans. As the Pyro Archon of Natlan, Mavuika is no different.

Many Genshin Impact players were hoping for Mavuika to finally provide a 5-Star alternative to either Bennett or Xiangling, and it’s no secret that the developers were aware of the high expectations the community had for Mavuika’s ability kit. The Pyro Archon is making her gameplay debut in Version 5.3, where she is expected to feature on the Event Banners in the first half of the update. With beta testing underway, players will be able to judge the gameplay value of Mavuika in Genshin Impact, and hopefully come away satisfied with her ability kit.

The ability kit was shared by Seele Leaks, providing an overview of Mavuika’s Elemental Skill, Elemental Burst, and key Ascension Passives. The information provided by the leak confirms earlier rumors about Mavuika’s ability. The Pyro Archon can best be described as a mix of Dehya and Raiden in Genshin Impact, on top of boasting a universal way to engage with Natlan’s exploration mechanics.

Mavuika’s Ability Kit in Genshin Impact

Ascension: CRIT DMG

Elemental Skill:

  • Short E: Applies Pyro to enemies every 2 seconds in an area of effect, even when Mavuika is off-field.
  • Long E: Mavuika rides a motorcycle, gaining Pyro infusion. While riding, she has a new Normal Attack combo. The Charged Attack involves spinning the motorcycle in circles and then lifting the front wheel to strike enemies, generating a certain number of Nightsoul Points. The Pyro infusion ends when the Nightsoul Points are depleted.

Elemental Burst:

  • The Elemental Burst does not consume energy but instead relies on Battle Will, with a maximum of 200 points. When Battle Will reaches 50%, it can be fully consumed to unleash the burst.
  • Ways to generate Battle Will:
    • Nearby characters consuming Nightsoul Points convert them into Battle Will.
    • Nearby characters hitting enemies with Normal Attacks generate Battle Will.
  • The first hit of the burst scales with the amount of Battle Will consumed.
  • Afterward, Mavuika enters an Awakened State for 7 seconds, which grants increased resistance to interruption. Both Normal and Charged Attack damage scale with the amount of Battle Will consumed. During this state, no actions consume Nightsoul Points.

Ascension Passives:

  • Upon casting the burst, all active characters gain a damage boost based on the amount of Battle Will consumed, up to 50%. The boost gradually decreases over time.
  • When any Nightsoul Burst is activated on the field, Mavuika gains a 35% ATK bonus.
  • Allows Mavuika to fly, run, swim, and climb with ease.

While Mavuika does not necessarily step on Bennett’s toes, her ability to provide a damage bonus on top of being allowed to wield the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City makes her a valuable support. On the other hand, her Elemental Skill only applies Pyro every two seconds, making Xiangling in Genshin Impact still the superior choice when it comes to applying Pyro. Much like Fischl still finds room on many Genshin Impact teams for her off-field Electro application, Mavuika likely won’t replace Xiangling outright.

The unique part of Mavuika’s ability kit pertains to her Elemental Burst. Unlike other Genshin Impact characters, Energy Recharge is completely wasted on Mavuika, as her Elemental Burst is fueled by Normal Attacks or the accumulation of Nightsoul points. Though this makes Mavuika prefer teammates from Natlan, assuming Normal Attacks do a decent job triggering her Elemental Burst, she could still be a powerful choice for most hypercarries in Genshin Impact. At the very least, Kinich fans should find Mavuika an invaluable teammate.
