Key Takeaways

  • According to leaks, Citlali is a Cryo Shield Support character scaling off Elemental Mastery in Genshin Impact.
  • Citlali’s Elemental Skill summons a totem for Cryo damage, and Elemental Burst deals AoE damage.
  • Citlali’s Constellations enhance her abilities, restoring Nightsoul points and boosting Elemental Mastery.

With Version 5.3 entering its beta testing stage, a recent Genshin Impact leak has provided players with their first detailed overview of Citlali’s ability kit. While Version 5.3 is expected to be a stacked update in terms of content, many Genshin Impact players are excited to finally play Citlali and Mavuika, two of the most popular characters to come out of Natlan. Whereas Mavuika’s popularity came as a surprise to no one, Citlali became a rising star among fans after her story appearance in Version 5.1.

Given the state of Cryo characters in Genshin Impact, many players were worried about Citlali’s ability kit. As more information started to emerge, it became clear that the developers intended for Citlali to be a 5-Star Shield Support character, the third added to the game after Zhongli and Baizhu. This caused the Genshin Impact community to be abuzz with excitement, as both Baizhu and Zhongli were popular characters that contributed a lot of value to their teams. All that was left undiscovered was what Citlali would bring to the table.

Rumor: Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Mavuika’s Ability Kit

A recent leak from the latest beta build for Version 5.3 finally gives players a detailed overview of Mavuika’s ability kit in Genshin Impact.

The latest leak comes from Narc1ssus via Seele Leaks, giving players a complete overview of Citlali’s ability kit in Genshin Impact. Rather uniquely, Citlali is a Cryo Support whose shield and damage scales off of Elemental Mastery. However, the fundamental value of her ability kit comes from being able to apply off-field Cryo at a steady pace via Izpaca, a totem summoned by her Elemental Skill. Notably, the source was also responsible for clarifying that Lanyan in Genshin Impact was a Catalyst (rather than a Polearm) character.

Citlali’s Ability Kit in Genshin Impact

Ascension: Elemental Mastery

Elemental Skill:

  • Immediately deals AoE Cryo DMG, summons Izpapa, and creates a shield scaling off of EM. Citlali enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and gains 24 Nightsoul points.
  • If the Nightsoul value is higher than 50, Izpapa enters the White Flint state, which deals continuous AoE Cryo DMG.
  • When Izpapa is in the White Flint State, it consumes 8 points of Nightsoul per second and disappears when Nightsoul is depleted.

Elemental Burst:

  • Deals one instance of AoE Cryo DMG, restores 24 Nightsoul points, and summons exploding spirits at up to three nearby enemies.
  • The spirits explode after a while, dealing Cryo DMG and restoring 3 Nightsoul points per explosion.

Ascension Passives:

  • When triggering Freeze or Melt, reduces Hydro resistance or Pyro resistance by 20% respectively and restores 16 Nightsoul points to Citlali. This can trigger once every 8s.
  • Boosts Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage based on Elemental Mastery, and restores 4 Nightsoul points when nearby characters trigger Nightsoul Burst.
  • Grants an enhanced jump.
    • Citlali can sit on Izpapa and fly for a distance.

Constellations:

  • C1: After using the Elemental Skill, gain a 10-stack buff. When the active character deals damage, consume 1 stack and boost the DMG based on 200% of Citlali’s Elemental Mastery, and when nearby characters trigger Freeze or Melt, gain an additional 3 stacks, once every 8s.
  • C2: Citlali’s Elemental Mastery increases by 125, and increases the Elemental Mastery of other characters under her shield by 250 points. In addition, using her Elemental Skill will grant shields to all characters on the field. The Pyro and Hydro resistance shred is increased to -40%.
  • C4: When using her Elemental Skill, Izpapa summons an additional spirit when it hits an enemy, which deals damage equal to 1600% of Citlali’s Elemental Mastery. This damage restores 16 Nightsoul points once every 8s.
  • C6: When using her Elemental Skill, Izpapa will remain in the White Flint state, even when Nightsoul points are depleted. In addition, after using the Elemental Skill, Izpapa will consume all Nightsoul points to increase the Pyro, Hydro, and Cryo damage of all nearby characters for the duration, increasing the corresponding Elemental damage by 1.5% for every 1 point of Nightsoul point consumed, up to a maximum of 60%.

Citlali’s ability kit appears to be rather elegant on paper. Her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst provide her with 48 Nightsoul points, with the Burst additionally giving nine Nightsoul points after the explosion. This triggers the White Flint state for Izpaca, steadily depleting her Nightsoul points in exchange for continuous Cryo damage in an area-of-effect. Furthermore, her talents give Citlali in Genshin Impact a way to restore Nightsoul points as they are being depleted – potentially extending the duration of Izpaca by a couple of seconds.

However, Citlali’s first Constellation grants a buff similar to Shenhe’s Icy Quill, boosting 10 attacks (13 via Melt or Freeze) made by the on-field character by 200% of Citlali’s Elemental Mastery. While Xianyun provides a similar bonus in her baseline kit, the number of Citlali’s stacks is doubled and applies to any type of attack. Lastly, similar to Ororon in Genshin Impact, Citlali’s exploration ability gives her the ability to jump high in the air. Though it remains to be seen how strong Citlali’s numbers are, Genshin Impact players are looking at an ability kit with plenty of utility – a Cryo Fischl with a shield and elemental shred.
