An old glory returns to Gen.G for 2025

Gen.G’s roster was one of the most anticipated news during the offseason, given the team had hot names on the lineup in 2024. While the team only finished in the top four at Worlds, the intention seems to go for a strong roster once again in the new season and aim for the championship in 2025.

To do so, Gen.G brought back Ruler, the legendary ADC who played for the team from 2018 to 2022. After spending two seasons in the LPL on JD Gaming, Ruler has returned to the LCK to face the other big Korean powerhouses.

Gen.G’s top side re-signs

Gen.G was often considered the team with the best top-side trio in the world, having played with Kiin, Canyon, and Chovy throughout season 14. All three players have been re-signed again, making Gen.G’s lineup a big threat and a must-watch team heading into the new season.

With T1 signing Doran and Zeus heading to HLE, it was pretty much expected that Kiin would play with Gen.G for another year. And given the Ruler’s addition, the potential for this Gen.G lineup should be equal to or higher than last year’s.

The only question mark comes from the support role, as Gen.G brought in Duro from BNK FearX. The guy has been on a growing trajectory, joining FearX’s starting lineup in the past LCK Summer split. With such a stacked lineup of players, he will have to deliver and prove himself that he’s one of the rising stars in the Korean league: he might get his first chance in the upcoming KeSPA Cup.

Will this lineup dominate the domestic championships and finally allow Gen.G to win that long-awaited world championship? There’s only one way to find out as the LCK season will restart in January 2025.

In the meantime, stay tuned for more transfer news and updates about League of Legends.
