As part of the Disney Dreamlight Valley 2024 Showcase Stream, Gameloft showed off the game’s road map for the upcoming year. This road map of free-to-play content was a predictable piece of content from Disney Dreamlight Valley as a roadmap for the latter half of 2024’s content was released previously. Though many players expected this road map, the images depicted in the road map are a mix of unexpected, highly anticipated, and possibly game-changing characters.
This new content road map specifically covers free-to-play content releasing in Disney Dreamlight Valley in 2025. In comparison, the previous content road map also introduced the A Rift in Time DLC. However, new DLC will also be released in 2025. The second half of the new Storybook DLC, The Unwritten Realms, is slated for Summer 2025. The first half of the Storybook Vale Expansion Pass, Welcome to the Vale, was just released on November 20.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Should Be Watching an Upcoming Movie Very Closely
If Disney Dreamlight Valley adds more content from one upcoming Disney Animation Studios film, there’s no telling how far the game will go.
Road Maps in Disney Dreamlight Valley Have Been Fairly Obvious
All the images in Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s aforementioned free-to-play road map have been introduced to the game. Tiana was introduced in the Dapper Delights Update, whereas Timon and Pumbaa were added in the Jungle Getaway Update. Unlike these other characters who were put fully on display on the road map, Sally was merely teased in her image. Fans were quick to place the red wig and patchwork dress of a mannequin for the “Late 2024” image as belonging to Sally. She will be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley in the Sew Delightful Update releasing on December 4.
It seems that Disney Dreamlight Valley is falling in the footsteps of the Sally promo image by teasing 2025’s free character additions rather than saying them outright. All three promo images show parts of characters or locations related to certain films. This leaves an air of mystery to a couple of these updates. Despite its attempts at remaining secretive, the hair accessories in the “Early 2025” image were easily recognized by fans.
Jasmine and Aladdin Will Take a Magic Carpet Ride to the Valley
The Early 2025 Image features two hair accessories – a turquoise jeweled headband and a vermillion fez. The image description reads: “Explore a new world and revel on a magical adventure.” It’s surprising the quote was not “a whole new world” as these hair accessories belong to Princess Jasmine and her film’s titular protagonist, Aladdin.
Jasmine and Aladdin’s inclusion is predictable as their villain, the evil vizier Jafar, was introduced in the aforementioned A Rift in Time DLC. However, Jasmine and Aladdin will be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game. This raises questions about character interactions between the couple and their villain.
This is not the first time Disney Dreamlight Valley has followed up character additions with new characters from the same film or franchise. In the base game, Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King were added to the game despite Scar, Simba, and Nala being a part of Disney Dreamlight Valley for months before their addition. Even in the case of DLC, The Unwritten Realms introduced Flynn Rider from Tangled after introducing Rapunzel in the A Rift in Time Expansion Pass.
In both of these instances, these followup characters were added in the same way as their predecessors – base game for The Lion King characters and DLC for Tangled characters. Aladdin, Jasmine, and Jafar will be split from each other, so while it would make sense for Gameloft to add character interactions between the three characters, these would obviously be absent for characters who only have Disney Dreamlight Valley’s base game installed.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Will Be a Wonderland
The Spring 2025 image depicts a familiar cat-like shadow with a wide crescent moon grin hidden in the branches of a tree. Its description tells fans to “Step into a land of wonder and meet new friends along the way.”
This toothy grin obviously belongs to the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland. Because the cat is the only Alice in Wonderland character so obviously depicted, it would not be surprising to see him be the Spring 2025 update’s character addition. A solo character addition isn’t unheard of, but fans will likely expect more gameplay features alongside the Cheshire Cat.
Perhaps Wonderland will be added as a biome to Disney Dreamlight Valley. After all, the quote directly mentions a “land of wonder”, suggesting that a new land will be available. If not a new biome, perhaps an Alice in Wonderland themed Realm will be added.

A Recent Disney Dreamlight Valley Coincidence Could Inspire a Game-Changing Feature
Disney Dreamlight Valley may not have gotten a new character’s nose right, but comparisons about his botched appearance could inspire new mechanics.
The addition of the Cheshire Cat will help one of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s key character roster issues. Currently, there are only a handful of characters from Disney’s history that are not from the Disney Renaissance and onward in the game. These characters include Mickey & Friends, Oswald, Merlin, The Fairy Godmother, and Maleficent, who will be added in The Unwritten Realms.
Alice in Wonderland is part of Disney’s Silver Age, categorized as films by the studio released between 1950 and 1967. Disney Dreamlight Valley is obviously aware of the disparity in characters on its roster, as Summer 2025’s free characters will also likely come from a Silver Age film.
Characters Stay Forever Young in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Skull Rock may be an established location in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but no characters from the film that the rock is originally from have been added to the game. The Summer 2025 image shows the mysterious cave on full display and asks players to “Solve an ancient mystery and discover who is waiting inside Skull Rock.”
Fans curious about Skull Rock can originally find it in Peter Pan. Since at least one person is waiting inside the rock, it’s likely that Summer 2025’s free character addition will be from the film. There are several characters from Peter Pan that would be great additions to Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster, but a few stick out specifically.
Captain Hook would be a great villain to add to the game. However, Maleficent will be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley around the same time. To add some variety, Peter Pan or Tinkerbell could be great character additions. Tinkerbell is a highly requested character whose absence from Disney Dreamlight Valley is very unexpected. Everyone’s favorite fairy was once a beloved mascot of the Disney corporation, making Tinkerbell’s addition the most likely.
Though exact character additions for all the teaser images in the 2025 free content roadmap have yet to be revealed, the films being added to Disney Dreamlight Valley are fairly set in stone. Until more information about these free updates is revealed, players can check out Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new Storybook Vale DLC.
