Disney Dreamlight Valley Storybook Vale: 4 Essential Tips

As a wise man once said, “If you can be one thing, you should be efficient.” Take that to heart when getting started in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new expansion The Storybook Vale. There’s a staggering amount of fresh content to see, characters to meet, and materials to collect and you should absolutely take your time and enjoy things. But there’s no sense in overlooking ways to make things easier on you in the long run. Here are four tips to do just that.

Constantly Mark Off Completed Duties

You’ll need a monstrous amount of Story Magic to open all of the biomes around Storybook Vale, and you’ll mostly obtain this by completing duties. But in order to actually obtain the Story Magic you’ve earned, you’ll need to mark off your completed duties in the menu. Make sure you’re completing and checking these off regularly so that new ones can populate to keep you bringing in a constant stream of Story Magic.

Streamline Your Foraging And Harvesting

A new expansion means an awful lot of new materials to collect. Each biome has its own trees and items to forage, as well as its own seeds to plant and harvest. Enter your furniture mode and try to consolidate all of these things into centralized spots that make it easy for you to knock out a lot at once.

For instance, move all of your fruit trees into a single area so you can forage them together quickly when their fruits respawn. And if you’re trying to collect a specific type of ingredient that drops from local fauna, leave only a few of the local tree types in each biome to avoid running all over the area to find those materials. Lastly, plant all of your seeds in one large area and then try to harvest it all at one time each day (using a harvesting buddy for extra ingredient drops).

Stay On Those Snippets

You’ll gain access to the Royal Net early on in the expansion. This lets you catch little Snippets moving around each biome. Though you may not initially be inclined to catch every Snippet you see, it’s worth your time. These are required for unlocking and reordering tales for the Lorekeeper, so you’ll need a ton of them by the end of your adventure in The Storybook Vale.

As you progress through the main story, you can craft useful items that will help you catch Snippets even easier, such as slowing traps that reduce their speed. With that extra bit of help, there’s really no excuse not to be proactive, so just keep pushing through and swinging that net at every Snippet you see.

Keep An Unleveled Villager With You At All Times

Leveling villagers in Disney Dreamlight Valley is a very time-consuming affair. Make sure you’re always hanging out with a character you don’t have at Friendship Level 10 yet, that way all of the mining, fishing, foraging, and more will count toward leveling them up.

Since Merida and Flynn will be your new companions in The Storybook Vale, they’re likely to be your best candidates for this. You should pick whatever job for them that you’d like, but I’d recommend making at least one of them excel at catching Snippets because, as previously mentioned, you’re going to need a hell of a lot of those little buggers.

Here’s to hoping you enjoy The Storybook Vale while remembering that efficiency is a wonderful thing!
