With the many creatures to feed in Towers of Aghasba, it’s important to learn how to use the Shimuscope to observe animals. This is necessary to gain information regarding which food an animal likes. However, ecosystem animals aren’t the only fauna players can observe. Other creatures such as fish, flying animals, or even monsters like the spiders can also be observed. Everything the Shimuscope recorded will be added to the Shimudex for players to access easily later.
To teach you about this fact, the game brings the A Fishy Request quest in Towers of Aghasba. Doing this task is highly recommended as it unlocks the Tethered Bow, which allows players to easily catch fish and flying creatures.

A Fishy Request Quest In Towers Of Aghasba
To start the A Fishy Request quest in Towers of Aghasba, players must talk to Jabari back at the Lutoro Bridge. This means going back to the bridge after the cutscene that takes players to Midhaven. Don’t worry, though, going back is necessary anyway to unlock Portal and fast travel in Towers of Aghasba.
A Fishy Request is a side quest that has the following tasks:
- Two fishes observed
- Two flyers observed
After observing two fishes and flyers, return to Jabari, and she’ll teach you how to make a Tethered Bow. However, she’ll ask for some materials, so make sure to come prepared. If players would like to reduce time spent running, they can unlock mounts in Towers of Aghasba by doing the A Mount For Your Troubles quest.
How To Observe Flyers and Fishes In Towers Of Aghasba
To observe fishes in Towers of Aghasba, players can visit either the lake near where Hoa was standing to teach them how to hunt or head to the ocean, like the spot southeast of Amani Island.
Pay attention to the water and keep a close eye on a moving target. After spotting a fish, activate the Shimuscope using the wheel scroll button on your mouse (R3 on the controller), and follow the creature until the Shimuscope finishes capturing the animal into the Shimudex.
Meanwhile, to observe flyers in Towers of Aghasba, there are plenty of viable spots. For example, if players level up their King Tree in the Temperate ecosystem, there will be three flyers around the Colossal Tree. If the Forest God had grown a little forest on Ishaya Island, there would also be many flyers around the area. Likewise, after establishing the Tropical ecosystem on Ishaya Island, other types of flyers will be available.
Observing flyers requires a lot of patience as some creatures move erratically, making it hard to keep track of them. It’s best to find high enough ground so you can get close and not lose the animal behind large plants in the area.
How To Get Tethered Bow In Towers Of Aghasba
To make a Tethered Bow in the A Fishy Request quest in Towers of Aghasba, players must provide the following materials to Jabari:
- One Wooden Bow
- Three Ropes
- Two Flint Arrows
Wooden Bow and Flint Arrows are given for free by Hoa in the Unleash The Hunter Within quest in Towers of Aghasba, but if players don’t have them anymore, then they can make more on the Crafting page.
The Tethered Bow is a weapon that doesn’t require ammo since the arrow will be pulled back after hitting an enemy. This limits the attack range but allows players to pull things that are hard to reach. This doesn’t only mean the Tropical Seeds in the Tropical ecosystem in Towers of Aghasba, but also fish and flying creatures. This means you don’t have to slowly kill a flying animal to catch them; just pull them with a Tethered Bow.
