After claiming codes for an ongoing World of Warcraft promotion, one player is trying to recoup some money by selling open boxes of Mountain Dew Game Fuel after claiming the point codes inside. Each point code from the Mountain Dew boxes was used to claim separate prizes for World of Warcraft, including a mount called the Hateforged Blazecycle.
First announced as part of World of Warcraft‘s 20th-anniversary celebration, the collaboration between Mountain Dew Gaming and Blizzard allows players to redeem codes for points that can be obtained from buying specific Mountain Dew, Doritos, and Rockstar Energy products. After collecting enough points, users can exchange them for in-game cosmetic items in World of Warcraft, such as the Bot Wrangler’s Belt and Aprons, and the Chillbot 9000 companion pet. However, the biggest draw of the ongoing promotion is a ground mount called the Hateforged Blazecycle, a motorcycle clad in sharp red metal, available for 600 points.

World of Warcraft Player Housing Release Window Narrowed Down
Blizzard provides another World of Warcraft roadmap 2025 update and indicates when the highly-anticipated player housing feature may arrive.
Although the Hateforged Blazecycle has since returned to the Mountain Dew Gaming point market following a brief pause, one World of Warcraft player is seeking to regain some money spent on the promotion. As reported by Icy Veins, a Facebook Marketplace listing is selling 108 opened 12-packs of Mountain Dew Game Fuel Citrus Cherry for $4 each. Each box contained a code for 1000 points, meaning the seller in question had redeemed as many as 108,000 Mountain Dew Gaming points to spend on prizes like the Hateforged Blazecycle. Given that the Blazecycle costs 600 points, the 108,000-point allotment would give the seller up to 180 mount prize codes. Although the Mountain Dew points are only valid in the US, the subsequent prize codes can be redeemed worldwide and either offered as a gift or sold to World of Warcraft players.
World of Warcraft Player Tries to Re-Sell Mountain Dew Game Fuel Packs
- A World of Warcraft fan is trying to sell 108 opened 12-packs of Mountain Dew Game Fuel on Facebook Marketplace.
- Each 12-pack of Citrus Cherry soda contained codes worth 1,000 Mountain Dew Gaming points.
- With as much as 108,000 points, the seller can redeem and sell the coveted Hateforged Blazecycle mount up to 180 times.
- Blizzard and Mountain Dew have since restocked the Hateforged Blazecycle following a three-day pause.
This promotion led to the Hateforged Blazecycle temporarily selling out for three days before returning to the Mountain Dew Gaming point shop on November 19. However, this is not the first time an MMORPG has faced sellout issues with redeemable Mountain Dew goodies. In the lead-up to Final Fantasy 14‘s Dawntrail expansion, Square Enix and Mountain Dew Gaming collaborated to bring a Mountain Zu mount to the marketplace for the same 600-point value as the Hateforged Blazecycle. Codes for the Mountain Zu were temporarily unavailable until a subsequent restocking was made, though the FF14 promotion has since ended.
The Mountain Dew Gaming crossover with World of Warcraft will end on January 31, shortly after Patch 11.0.7 goes live on December 17. With the Hateforged Blazecycle back in stock, World of Warcraft players will not have much longer to claim it.
