Where To Buy The Utilitarian’s Manual In Metaphor: ReFantazio

Completing bonds with your followers will give you various perks every few levels of Metaphor: ReFantazio. Party members will often give you bonuses when using them in combat, while other followers will help you prepare for exploring dungeons by giving you free Reeve, supplies, and even the ability to purchase some of the better accessories in the game.

The Utilitarian’s Manual is arguably one of the best accessories in the game, and can only be obtained later in the game depending on who you choose to rank up. Press Turn icon management is a major part of the game, and Synthesis skills will usually take two or three icons to use. Here’s where and how to buy the Utilitarian’s Manual.

The Utilitarian’s Manual is purchased in Gloamhall, the hidden magic shop in the back alleyways of Grand Trad. Before you can buy it, you’ll also need to rank up Alonzo’s Bond to rank 7 before you’ll even see the item appear in the shop. Gloamhall is also only open during the night, limiting when you can buy it. The Utilitarian’s Manual costs 96,000 Reeve a piece, and you can purchase four of them in total, one for each active party member in combat.

A List Of Synthesis Skills For Only One Press Turn Icon

While equipped, Synthesis skills from the caster will cost one less Press Turn icon than usual. The majority of Synthesis skills cost two Icons, so it will make most of them only cost one. This does only work when the main caster is the one with the accessory equipped, meaning they can’t be the support for the skill and still get the advantage. This does also mean that hitting a weakness with that Synthesis Skill will only give back one Press Turn icon, but as long as your other party members are hitting a weakness it won’t cause any noticeable change in that area.

Some of the best Archetypes for this accessory are:

  • PrinceRoyal Sword: Already boosted synthesis skills that deal huge amounts of damage.
  • Warlord – Dynast Formation: Party-wide buff that increases all stats by three ranks.
  • Tycoon – All Reset: Undoes any buffs on all enemies.
  • Paladin – Peerless Sanctity: Lower all the stats of all enemies while also dealing light damage.

While these are some of the best options, this accessory works on any Archetype and any character, so it’s highly recommended you save up to buy as many of these accessories as you can.
