1 Lye Batenkaitos

One Of The Greed Siblings That Can Eat Memories

Devilish since his first introduction, Lye Batenkaitos has been one of the more integral Sin Archbishops of the Witch Cult, representing gluttony alongside his brother, Roy Alphard. Famed for defeating Crusch Karsten and Rem, Lye possesses the ability to devour names and memories, resulting in his victims losing their purpose. At the same time, their friends can even fail to remember them, which is the case for the blue-haired maid Rem.

With a variety of offensive attacks accumulated from eating souls due to his Authority of Gluttony, Lye has become a well-rounded villain who has tormented many in his time in Re:Zero.

2 Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti

Kind Man Who Turned Into A Corrupt And Evil Sin Archbishop Of Sloth

Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti emerges as the first Sin Archbishop introduced, becoming Subaru’s main enemy in Season 1. Although initially a kind man who was particularly close with a young Emilia, Petelgeuse absorbed the Witch Factor of Sloth, turning him into a crazed and destructive man obsessed with the Witch of Envy.

Throughout Season 1, Petelgeuse utilizes the Authority of Sloth, allowing the menace to use the Unseen Hand, a multifunctional ability enabling various hands to attack or defend, with nearly all enemies failing to see his moves. His outrageous power, mixed with his chaotic personality, made Petelgeuse a fierce opponent for Subaru and his trusted party when trying to save Arlam Village and the inhabitants of Roswaal Manor.

3 Capella Emerada Lugunica

Lustful Villain Able To Transform Into Other Characters

One of Season 3’s newest characters is Capella Emerada Lugunica, the Sin Archbishop of Lust. Although her appearance does not come off as intimidating, Capella’s ability has been shown to terrify Subaru, stopping him in his tracks as Capella transforms herself and others into other people or creatures.

Shown when transforming into Emilia, Capella is able to deceive her foes, lowering their guards and allowing her to strike. Capella’s transfiguration ability even allowed the Sin Archbishop to turn an innocent citizen into a fully grown dragon, with her ability to create minions to fight on her behalf being a scary power when utilized.

4 Sirius Romanée-Conti

Crazed Sin Archbishop That Emits Emotions Onto Others

The cliffhanger in Episode 1 of Season 3 was provided by the actions of the elusive Sirius Romanée-Conti, the Sin Archbishop of Wrath, who eliminated Subaru and hundreds of Priestella citizens in an instant. Consumed by an obsession with Petelgeuse, whom she often confuses Subaru for, the Sin Archbishop is a fearsome opponent, with Sirius being able to defeat Emilia in one-on-one combat due to her unbelievable physical strength.

Capable of transmitting her emotions or those of others to the masses, Sirius has inflicted death on hundreds through her unique ability, making Sirius a formidable antagonist to overcome in the Attack Arc.

5 Echidna

Witch Of Greed And Teacher Of Many

Echidna, the Witch of Greed, was one of the main characters during Re:Zero‘s second season, often being an antagonist to Subaru and Emilia. As the creator of Puck and Beatrice, while being the mentor of the original Roswaal L. Mathers, Echidna has had a lot of influence, with the Witch of Greed’s power and influence being seen throughout Re:Zero.

As a master magic user who can use six different elements to perfection, Echidna is a potent mage who ranks as one of the strongest individuals in terms of influence and combat abilities.

Exuberant Lord Who Possesses Otherworldly Magic Abilities

The mysterious and alluring Roswaal is a character who possesses otherworldly magic abilities that have seen him live for several centuries, leading him to be a significant presence in many characters’ lives, such as Rem and Ram. Learning from the witch Echidna, whom he loves, Roswaal is regarded as one of the most powerful magic users in all of Re:Zero, with his different bodies all possessing immense power.

The current iteration of Roswaal is able to use all six different elements of magic, a feat very few have been able to achieve, showing the talent and strength of the Witch of Greed’s student.

7 Hector

Mysterious Mage That Beat Roswaal In Combat

Although Hector only appears in one episode of Re:Zero, the character’s impact is seismic, with Hector being shown in a flashback viciously pulverizing the original Roswaal in battle. In that scene, the original Roswaal and Beatrice are following Echidna. Roswaal, the extraordinary magic user, is soundly defeated by the mysterious foe Hector, with Hector seemingly not breaking a sweat during the fight.

Besides Hector being in pursuit of Echidna and dismantling a powerful character such as Roswaal, only a little is known about Hector, with his appearance being 400 years before current events.

8 Sekhmet

Introduced in Season 2, the Witch of Sloth, Sekhmet, is among the many witches that interfere with Subaru as he decides whether to accept Echidna’s deal. As the Witch of Sloth, Sekhmet is shown to be lazy, although this vivid and vibrant witch is no slouch in combat.

While speaking to Subaru, Echidna states that Sekhmet took on a dragon by a great waterfall, believed to be the legendary Volcanica, showing Sekhmet’s prowess in battle. Despite not being seen in action, Sekhmet’s accomplishments and status as a witch make her a dangerous individual.

9 Puck

Furry Friend Of Emilia And Beast Hidden In Plain Sight

Puck is one of the many fan favorites in Re:Zero, being the perfect complement to Emilia, who Puck sees as his daughter. As a spirit, Puck was created to watch over Emilia, with the spirit protecting and aiding the half-elf when Emilia awakened from being frozen. When it comes to combat, Puck is a terror, with the spirit being arguably the strongest fire user in all of Re:Zero.

In his fight against Melakuera, Puck shows his variety of abilities, taking down Melakuera, a fearsome opponent, to protect Emilia. One of Puck’s primary abilities is his transformation into a 20-foot version of himself, capable of causing devastating damage to enemies and the surrounding lands.

Vile Sin Archbishop Who Has A Thirst For Violence

As one of the Sin Archbishops, Regulus Corneas is a character who carries evil ideologies, particularly with his devotion to the Witch of Envy, Satella. While causing chaos in Emilia’s flashback and in the present of Re:Zero, Regulus is shown to have inhuman abilities that have made him one of the most dangerous Sin Archbishops.

The Sin Archbishop of Greed’s primary ability, Lion’s Heart, enables Regulus to take blows without taking damage, effectively leading to Regulus becoming temporarily invincible, a power that makes the character exceedingly dangerous. In season 3 of Re:Zero, Regulus has proven to be a powerful and wicked individual, taking on his fellow Sin Archbishop, Sirius, and Subaru, amid the character stealing Emilia for himself, illustrating his scary power.

11 Pandora

Powerful Witch With The Power To Change Events

The Witch of Vainglory, Pandora, is first introduced in Emilia’s flashbacks and is shown to be a powerful witch that Regulus follows ardently. Not much is clear about why Pandora helps destroy the Elior Forest, nor what she seeks from the seal, although her motives appear evil and menacing.

Despite characters like Regulus seeming invincible, Pandora can easily conquer the Sin Archbishop using otherworldly manipulation. When Regulus starts questioning Pandora, the Witch of Vainglory immediately vanquishes the outspoken Regulus, making it so that he had never entered Elior Forest in the first place, altering reality in the process.

12 Satella

Witch Of Envy Connected To Subaru And Emilia

The Witch of Envy, Satella, is one of the main antagonists throughout Re:Zero. Her character is responsible for the Great Calamity, which saw Satella demolish and destroy over half of the world hundreds of years before the story’s current events.

Despite The Witch of Envy not being shown as much in the anime, the character’s abilities have been demonstrated through the control of unseen shadow tentacles that can attack or bind enemies. Besides using shadows as offense, the Witch of Envy can form a veil that is impossible to damage, with Garfiel Tinzel failing to make a mark on Satella when she is inside the Sanctuary.

13 Reinhard Van Astrea

Knight Of Lugunica And Master Swordsman

As a knight of Lugunica, Reinhard van Astrea is one of the realm’s greatest warriors, with the knight possessing immense strength that makes the character rank as one of the strongest in all of Re:Zero. Since Reinhard’s introduction, the red-haired knight has displayed his abilities in combat, dismantling tough opponents such as Elsa Granhiert through his Divine Protection.

Besides being the greatest swordsman alive, Reinhard’s Divine Protection of the Sword Saint enables the knight to see optimal angles for success when attacking or parrying, effectively making him invincible in close combat. When Subaru examines alternative timelines where he has died, Reinhard is shown eliminating Puck, who had transformed into the Beast of the End, with the swordsman obliterating the powerful spirit in an instant.
