The Best Vampire Mods For The Sims 4

Key Takeaways

  • Vampire mods add depth and difficulty to Sims 4 vampires, addressing shortcomings in the base game.
  • Mods allow for increased lethality, dramatic initiation rituals, and expanded vampire powers, improving gameplay.
  • Custom content like plasma fruit packs, vampire transformations, and new interactions enhance the vampire experience.

Vampires have been a fixture in The Sims 4 ever since the Vampires DLC came out in 2017. They add hours of bloody fun to any Sims game, but some Simmers feel that the standard vampires are tragically defanged. Not many players appreciate a vampire who’s more Count Chocula than Bela Lugosi.

Fortunately, the Sims 4 modding community can always be trusted to fill in the gaps EA has left behind. Vampire mods are a little niche in the community, but there’s still some quality content out there. From quality-of-(un)life improvements to simply adding more spooky vibes, here are our favorite vampire-centric mods for The Sims 4.

You will need the Vampires DLC for any of the mods in this article to work.

Vampires Can Kill

For Those Who Want To Play Real Monsters

Before they were made into charming heartthrobs and cereal mascots, vampires were proper monsters, and all of us horror fans rejoiced. But The Sims 4 vampires are just a little underwhelming, with vampire bites being barely an inconvenience for most Sims, so this mod aims to correct EA’s error and give us the monsters we’ve long dreamed about.

This mod works just fine without DLCs other than the Vampires pack, but you’ll miss out on some content. Spellcaster and werewolf-related interactions won’t appear unless you have the Realm of Magic and Werewolves DLC, respectively.

Now, your vampire Sims can kill other Sims by feeding on them, and there’s also a custom headstone and ghost color for Sims who perished in this manner. Our favorite feature is the attention to detail given to werewolves and spellcasters, who will react in interesting ways to seeing another Sim being fed on, you can still choose to feed non-lethally if you’re playing a ‘good’ vampire, but it satisfies less hunger.

Vampire Initiation Ritual

Vampires Are Nothing If Not Dramatic

Vampires can turn human Sims into vampires in The Sims 4, but the event is a little underwhelming: just one simple interaction, and it’s done. We’re pretty sure that turning into a vampire would be one of life’s greatest milestones, so it demands something special to mark the occasion.

Your Sims can plan an initiation ritual using the same interface they use to plan weddings and parties. You’ll need to invite several different vampire Sims for the ritual to go off without a hitch (including your prospective sire), but still, this is a great excuse for a party, and your newly vampiric Sim gets some free stuff as a bonus.

Vampire Tweaks

Improvements To Quality-Of-(Un)Life

Creator Airianna has made an indispensable mod for Simmers who can’t play without vampires. In an unmodded game, several quirks and bugs make playing a vampire more than a little tricky, which makes it difficult to get things right early on, especially when the game automatically dumps all new households onto the sidewalk at 8am on a clear, sunny day.

Most of the changes Airianna makes are bug fixes, but there are also several quality-of-life improvements this mod adds to your game. Aspiration rewards that slow motive decay for human Sims now work with vampires, for instance, and vampires can now also autonomously meditate, keeping their energy levels up for longer.

Vampirify Spell For Spellcasters

Finally, Some Necromancy For Your Sims

Spellcasters in The Sims 4 can do a lot of things, to the point where they’re considered overpowered by a large portion of the fandom, but there’s not much they can do to interact with supernaturals from other packs, which is more than a little disappointing. If you’ve hoped for a more immersive urban fantasy experience in your Sims 4 game, this mod should help make things feel a little more integrated.

You will need the Realm of Magic DLC for this mod to work.

The Vampirify spell enables spellcasters to turn your regular human Sims into vampires and can be learned by master spellcasters with high Vampire Lore skill, which belongs to the Untamed school of magic and implies that it should be used responsibly. However, this is the Sims 4, and if we said we were going to do anything responsibly, we’d be kidding ourselves.

New Vampire Powers

Make Your Unlives Just A Bit Easier

Vampires are powerful beings, but one game can’t include the full breadth of abilities that vampires have shown in fiction. Still, it’s understandable if you get tired of picking from the same slate of options when picking powers for your vampire; The Sims 4 is a game about customization, but when it comes to vampires, those options can fall a little short.

The New Vampire Powers mod from LittleMsSam aims to give us a few more options, and true to its name, this mod adds new powers for you to customize your bloodsuckers with, adding more variety to your vampires. Most of these powers revolve around blending in more with human society, such as sunlight immunity and the ability to eat human food.

4

Plasma Packs From Plasma Fruit

Seriously, Why Wasn’t This A Thing?

In addition to bloo-er, plasma, your vampire Sims can obtain sustenance from the Plasma Fruit, which is useful if you’re trying to be a more humane bloodsucker. But you’re not able to craft plasma packs from the fruit (which is just a little weird when there are countless recipes in the game), and it leaves vampires with a terrible choice: drink human blood or rely on dubious fridge juice for nourishment.

Fortunately, LittleMsSam has added a way to craft fruity (and vegan-friendly) plasma packs to your game, which are more nourishing than your standard plasma packs from the store, providing more incentive for your Sim to get crafting. This mod also enables you to play vampires when doing certain gameplay challenges, such as only being able to cook using ingredients you’ve grown.

3

SweetSimmer’s Vampires Revamped Mod

Flavor Your Drinks

  • Creator: SweetSimmer
  • Available Through: Patreon

Although vampires have a wide range of powers in The Sims 4, there are those in the community who find them more than a little bland. Drinking from another Sim is no more than an inconvenience to your victim most of the time unless you use mods. Luckily, SweetSimmer’s Vampires Revamped mod gives you a world of possibilities.

You’ll need Scumbumbo’s XML Injector for this mod to work.

Now you can make your vampires drink in ways that provoke dramatic mood changes in their victims, making them feel dazed, flirty, or anything in between. You can also drain them dry, compliment their beautiful necks, or inquire about their cardiovascular health. There’s loads of options and new interactions to play with, whether you want your vampires to be scary or seductive.

2

PolarBearSims’ Vampire Death & More Mod

Add A Dose Of Lethality To Your Game

There are plenty of catch-all vampire mods that add quality-of-life changes to the vampiric experience, but this one by PolarBearSims is great if you want to give your bloodsuckers just a little more bite. It also provides you with a few more death options, which is perfect for the new Life and Death DLC.

In addition to the new array of deaths at your disposal, there are also more options for feeding and pregnancy-related interactions. Vampires can now drink from other vampires and turn pregnant Sims, giving you more flexibility when it comes to storytelling options. An eternity of blood and darkness awaits!

1

Zero’s Reworked Vampires Mod

For Those Looking For Actual Difficulty

  • Creator: Zero
  • Available Through: Patreon

While plenty of simmers might be more than happy to let their overpowered vampires rampage across Willow Creek, others might prefer more of a challenge. Zero’s Reworked Vampires Mod is a rehaul of some of their previous creations, aiming to add more strategy to a vampire-themed household.

With Zero’s mod, you can expect a few changes from the standard vampire playthrough. Being awake during the daytime, while not lethal, now drains your vampire’s energy. Vampires are also unable to use their powers during the day, so a nocturnal lifestyle is preferable on all fronts.
