There are only five Legendary Jokers in the game of Balatro. These are extremely hard to find and do not show up in the shop normally. They have to be obtained through special means. These Jokers have the most powerful effects in the game, though having a Legendary Joker doesn’t guarantee victory unless the rest of your arsenal can supplement its effect properly.

How To Get Legendary Jokers In Balatro

Legendary Jokers do not appear in the normal shop that players visit after each round. At least, not out in the open. To obtain a Legendary Joker, players need to obtain the spectral card, “The Soul.” When used, this card creates a Legendary Joker if the player has an open slot.

To get “The Soul,” you need to open spectral packs. However, this card only has a 0.3% chance of appearing, though the chance increases as you open more packs. The more spectral packs you open, the higher the chance that this card will spawn in any given pack. There are two Jokers in the game — Seance and Sixth Sense — that generate Spectral Cards on activation, increasing the chances of obtaining The Soul.
