Subscribers to PS Plus Premium can now enjoy two beloved titles from the Legacy of Kain series, complete with trophy support. The games are Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2, not to be confused with the upcoming Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered duology. While it’s not the first time classic games added to PS Plus have received trophies, this feature has typically been reserved for titles developed or published by Sony.
The Legacy of Kain series began in 1996 with Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and had five installments released by 2003. The series was initially developed by the now-defunct Silicon Knights and published by Crystal Dynamics, who also owns the IP nowadays. However, it remained dormant until Square Enix sold Crystal Dynamics to Embracer Group, which wasted no time announcing remasters for Soul Reaver 1 & 2. The Soul Reaver duology comprises the second and third mainline entries, while Blood Omen 1 and Blood Omen 2 are the first and fourth games, respectively.

Unfortunately for PlayStation Plus subscribers, the service is losing 19 games.
Today, PS Plus Premium subscribers receive 17 new games, including the PS1 classic Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and its PS2 sequel Blood Omen 2. PSNProfiles revealed that both titles have trophy support for the PS4 and PS5 versions. In all, each game has 21 trophies, including platinum trophies. Most trophies require players to progress through the main campaign, but some relate to collecting upgrades. In Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, there are trophies for finding all weapons, armor, spells, and objects. Another requires players to inflict 250 mutilations, savor 500 meals, and relish 1,000 slayings, which will involve some light farming.
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen 2 Receive Trophy Support
Blood Omen 2 also features campaign-related trophies but includes challenges like bloodsuck 200 bodies or completely fill Kain’s Lore Bar 9 times. One situational trophy, titled “When All Else Fails,” asks players to complete two levels using only claws and/or Dark Gifts. Trophies in classic PS Plus games are always a welcome addition, offering extra motivation for newcomers and longtime fans revisiting these iconic titles.
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen 2 join the PS Plus catalog just a month before the launch of the Soul Reaver remasters, scheduled for release on December 10. With this addition, nearly all Legacy of Kain games will soon be available on modern platforms. While neither Crystal Dynamics nor Embracer Group has commented on future plans, strong player interest in these titles could spark the possibility of something new for the Legacy of Kain series, allowing it to move beyond remasters.
