Brawlhalla Adding Even More Star Wars Characters

Key Takeaways

  • Brawlhalla is set to introduce six new Star Wars characters like Han Solo and Chewbacca on December 4, 2024
  • New crossover characters in Brawlhalla from Star Wars will mainly function as skins and not have unique movesets.
  • Fans are excited for Brawlhalla’s diverse Star Wars addition, including Kay Vess and Nix, despite their mixed reception in the Star Wars Outlaws game

Brawlhalla has announced that even more iconic Star Wars characters will be coming to the game on December 4. Blue Mammoth Games first released the 2D platform fighting game Brawlhalla in 2017, and it has continued to add new characters and content ever since. While originally released on PlayStation 4, PC, and MacOS, it is now also playable on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and more. The hit title features both local and online multiplayer for up to eight people with full cross-play. Brawlhalla is completely free and features over 50 playable characters.

When it comes to crossovers, Brawlhalla has a long and successful history. Blue Mammoth Games has pulled characters from all kinds of media, bringing many unlikely franchises together under one roof. Brawlhalla recently collaborated with Borderlands to coincide with the release of the movie in theaters. The 2D fighter has also collaborated with franchises like Assassin’s Creed, GI Joe, Mega Man, and many more.

Blue Mammoth Games has now announced its second collaboration with Star Wars. This time around, fans will be treated to six new characters: Kay Vess, Nix, Han Solo, Chewbacca, The Mandalorian, and Grogu. The crossover pulls in characters from the movies, television shows, and games. It’s a diverse range of characters with a focus on the underworld side of the iconic franchise. Players can expect to get their hands on these characters on December 4, 2024. Brawlhalla‘s first collaboration with Star Wars happened earlier in 2024 and featured characters like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Brawlhalla x Star Wars Crossover Adds Six New Characters

  • Chewbacca
  • Han Solo
  • Grogu
  • Kay Vess
  • Nix
  • The Mandalorian

It’s important to note how the Star Wars characters function within Brawlhalla. While these characters are coming to the 2D platform fighter, players shouldn’t expect entirely new movesets for their fighters. Instead, crossover characters act simply as skins. A sword, for instance, may be replaced by a lightsaber, but the two will function in exactly the same way. This method allows Blue Mammoth Games to grow its roster of crossover characters without constantly rebalancing the game and bloating its large pool of playable legends.

Some fans have expressed surprise over the appearance of Kay Vess and her companion Nix. Star Wars Outlaws was released earlier this year, which means the characters are still very new to the Star Wars franchise. Furthermore, the game debuted to some mixed reception and failed to meet Ubisoft’s sales expectations. While Star Wars Outlaws continues to receive support in the form of major updates, seeing two of its characters pop up in a crossover event isn’t something many fans expected to see. However, much of the fanbase was excited to see the addition of any and all Star Wars characters. With six new heroes on the way, there’s a lot to look forward to for fans of Brawlhalla.
