Key Takeaways
- Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is set to receive a 60fps patch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles on Tuesday.
- The patch helps modernize one of Assassin’s Creed’s more underatted titles.
- That said, fans are especially clamoring for a 60fps patch for Unity.
- Unity has seen is popularity rise dramatically over the last several months, due in part to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
In an unusual, but welcome surprise, on Monday, Ubisoft revealed that Assassin’s Creed Syndicate would be receiving a 60fps patch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles as soon as tomorrow. The 2015 title will now run at 4K, 60fps on PS5 and PS5 Pro, as well as 1080p, 60fps. Meanwhile, the Series X will also be at 4K, 60fps, while Series S will be at 1080p, 60fps, according to Ubisoft’s release.
Without an Assassin’s Creed title in 2024, due to Shadows being delayed into 2025, a return to London doesn’t sound all that bad. However, what fans are really clamoring for is a return to Paris with an Assassin’s Creed Unity patch.

Unity Is Finally Getting Its Flowers
“Where’s Unity?” one user matter-of-factly said in a Reddit thread dedicated to news of the upcoming patch. Technically speaking, Unity does run at 60fps on Xbox via the built-in fps boost. However, while the frame rate is boosted, the resolution is still stuck at 900p.
“It’s a shame they didn’t do this for Unity, I’d gladly pop that one in again for a run at 60fps,” another user opined.
For one reason or another, Unity has seen its popularity massively increase, particularly in the last several months. During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Unity’s Arno made an appearance during the Opening Ceremony as an honorary torchbearer.
Hopefully, Ubisoft listens to these rabid fans and makes a current-generation patch for Unity a thing. Until then, though, Syndicate is quite the delight, particularly its Jack the Ripper DLC.
