PlayStation gave the PS5 and some of its accessories a retro makeover last month via its 30th-anniversary collection. The collection was incredibly popular and almost everything in it sold out immediately. However, Amazon appears to have some fresh stock of select items in the range as it was restocking them during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Wario64 noted that the 30th-anniversary model of PlayStation’s slimmer PS5 had been restocked shortly after midnight EST on Tuesday. That resulted in those still awake who had been hoping there would be more opportunities to buy the console to flock to Amazon and pick one up. It naturally sold out quickly and then a restock of the anniversary DualSense followed it soon after.

Even after the controller quickly sold out, Amazon wasn’t done. The console that had sold out minutes earlier was then restocked a second time, and that’s where, even though both the PS5 and the DualSense are sold out at the time of typing this, some hope to cling to emerges. When Amazon has stock of an in-demand item to sell, it tends to add that stock in batches to avoid traffic and potentially prevent scalpers from getting it all, and that might be what is happening here.

There are some items in the anniversary collection that appear to be sold out for good. The PS5 Pro bundle had very limited numbers and will almost certainly never be restocked. The Portal and the DualSense Edge have also been out of stock ever since the first waves at PlayStation and then other retailers sold out.
