Wednesday Season 2 Fans Are Seriously Divided Over Lady Gaga Casting

Welcoming its newest cast member to the series, Netflix has brought out the big guns for Wednesday season two, which will now include the iconic singer, Lady Gaga. However, it seems as though not all fans of the highly popular show are as enthusiastic about the ‘Bad Romance‘ songbird rubbing shoulders with the rest of the cast. Not long after the hit Netflix series’ success in 2022, Wednesday season two was on the cards for the coming-of-age supernatural show starring Jenna Ortega that has since catapulted the young actor into stardom.

Wednesday‘s supernaturally infused mystery tells the story of Wednesday Addams, strangely enough, as she becomes a student at Nevermore Academy. While attempting to hone her powerful psychic ability, she ends up trying to solve a puzzle from her parents’ past, while also getting roped into a local murder mystery. Even though there were many exciting and intriguing aspects in Wednesday season one, Jenna Ortega’s ‘Goo Goo Muck’ dance routine took trending to a whole new level, seeing almost everyone on the planet mimicking the characters’ captivating movements. As fans of the show are aware, Wednesday Season two is on its way to Netflix sometime in 2025, but before that, they have some things to say about its newest cast member.

Wednesday Season 2 Fans Split Over Lady Gaga Joining the Show

At a time when the main focus should probably be on how exciting it is that Wednesday will be back on our screens, some fans of the show can’t seem to get past the idea of Lady Gaga being a part of season two. The actress and singer, who has starred in numerous movies and TV shows, which include the likes of House of Gucci, A Star is Born, American Horror Stories, and most recently, Joker: Folie à Deux, will be sharing the limelight with Jenna Ortega in a currently undisclosed role. It seems as though due to Joker 2‘s poor performance, Wednesday fans fear that Gaga’s appearance could spell the end of the Netflix show for good.

While many fans believe Gaga would be perfect for any role in Wednesday season two, especially that of the new head of Nevermore Academy, and her dark style would fit seamlessly into the show’s somber undertone, others are concerned that this could mean some kind of musical is on the cards for the series, and she needs to “stop doing the 2nd of everything”, meaning her involvement in Joker 2.

There’s certainly quite a bit of harsh criticism there for the ‘Poker Face‘ star, who has seen plenty of successful endeavors throughout her illustrious career. Playing Ally in A Star is Born alongside Bradly Cooper, the film grossed $434.9 million worldwide due to the passionate performance solidified by Gaga and Cooper. If solely that is anything to go on, Gaga will not only channel her incredible acting chops into whatever role she’ll play, but also there’s a chance she could take Wednesday season two to an even higher success than it previously achieved. As for now, Wednesday season two has yet to get a release date, with only a 2025 window, but hopefully there will be many more teases and cast surprises before then.
