The Veilguard Fans Confused Why The Inquisitor Isn't In Armor

In Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you can customise and later meet your Inquisitor, bridging the gap between games while shedding light on how things are going in Southern Thedas as Elgar’nan and Ghilan’nain return. But there’s one part of our Inquisitor that we can’t change, and it’s tripping fans up.

Spoilers for The Veilguard.

For whatever reason, they show up in bog-standard Minrathous citizen clothes, not armour. Hardly befitting a hero of Thedas, especially with how striking the Inquisitor gear is. Granted, when we first meet them, it’s in a relaxed atmosphere, so the clothes make sense. But when they show up in the final battle, they’re still sporting, as fans say, “ugly pajamas”.

It’s a shame to see them dress down in those moments that would call for a knight in shining armour. Especially considering that Hawke turns up in Inquisition wearing their own iconic gear, even if it’s not what we wore in Dragon Age 2. I’ve no doubt modders will remedy it down the line, but for now, fans are asking one question – why?

Fans Say The Inquisitor Is Too “Basic” In The Veilguard

“Why the f**k does the Inquisitor, one of the most important figures in Thedas, show up in the Shadow Dragons casual clothes not only to meet Rook which is already awful, BUT IN THE FINAL BATTLE,” Reddit user PartyPickle251 posted. “Girl wear an [sic] armor at least??!!! I really thought she would pull up with a badass Inquisition armor and she literally pulls up in those ugly [pajamas].”

Comments echoed this sentiment wholeheartedly, saying that their Inquisitor “would never wear that”, arguing that BioWare “did her so dirty in this game.

I did not spend literal hours making my Inquisitor have a full dragon scale/teeth/hide and whatever else armour just for her to be wearing the most basic outfit.

There’s been a lot of contention with the Inquisitor among the community, from how passive they seem about Solas, especially if you romanced him, to how different they act when compared to Inquisition, but come on, at least stick ’em in armour.
