In Temtem: Swarm, you can upgrade gear by re-clicking on the same gear piece your Tem has on after leveling up in the game. The level up system is straightforward. All you have to do is collect enough cubes after defeating nearby creatures. Cubes are experience points (or EXP) that enemies leave behind when you beat them, and you can easily gather these pickups by approaching them on the stage. After you grab cubes, your Tem’s experience bar increases. When it reaches midway or full, your Tem levels up, and you’re given the option to pick a perk. These perks come in the form of new or currently used techniques and gear. By picking perks, you can create a build to defeat bosses and other monsters on the stage.
Once players upgrade their Tem’s gear, its power multiplies, and upon selecting the right gear upgrade, enemies become weaker. For example, choosing to upgrade the Fortify Band will increase your Tem’s armor by five percent to 35%, and leveling up the Oozing Scent will decrease the enemies’ speed.
