In an official blog post, Ubisoft revealed that Outlaws is set to receive its Title Update 1.4 on November 21. The update will bring several highly-requested features to the game, including the aforementioned ability to carry a weapon while climbing.
Among the listed changes are updates to all weapon stats, as well as the health and armor of enemies. Elsewhere, the ability to shoulder swap the camera will be implemented, along with new cover-based animations.
The end result is a game that is far closer to what the developers had likely intended, however, it was certainly not what was launched. The title update will coincide with the release of Outlaws’ first batch of DLC, a Lando Calrissian-centric adventure titled “Wild Card.”
Stealth Was Also Fixed
Back in October, the game’s problematic stealth gameplay was also patched. Via Title Update 1.2, adjustments were made to AI detection, camera detection and NPC behavior.
Those changes came after players were frustrated with the game’s mandatory stealth sections, with many fans panning the gameplay. The sections were hard enough that even the game’s director, Julian Gerighty, admitted that they were “unfair,” while promising a patch to alleviate those concerns.
These updates are just a sampling of the many that Outlaws has undergone since its initial launch in August. Following that near-disastrous launch, Ubisoft vowed to implement multiple updates to help bring the game more in line with consumer expectations. The impact of Outlaws eventually led to Assassin’s Creed Shadows being delayed into 2025.
