Star Rail Leaks Suggest 2.7 is the Time to Start Playing The Game

There’s a lot to be excited about in Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7. For one thing, it features new banners for Harmony and Nihility characters Sunday and Fugue (Tingyun’s 5-star form), but HoYoverse seems to have more fun surprises for players in the coming months. This is because recent reliable leaks have surfaced about rewards for players who regularly check in during the next patch. If proven true, this rumor could be a great year-end reward and make 2.7 the perfect update for new players to get into Honkai: Star Rail.

The game has been one of the more generous gacha titles regarding rewards. It gave players a strong limited unit, Dr. Ratio, for free in Version 1.6. Plus, it regularly gives out 10 free Star Rail Special Passes for every major patch. Each new story quest line in Honkai: Star Rail also provides enough Stellar Jades for a guaranteed 5-star character pull. Therefore, it’s no surprise that it could be ending the year on a high note with a series of big giveaways.

A recent leak from Honkai: Star Rail is providing details about the kit for the rumored five-star variant of Herta, releasing in the near future.

Why Honkai: Star Rail 2.7’s Possible Standard 5-Star Selector is Great for All Players

A recent leak by StepLeaks, posted on the r/HonkaiStarRail_leaks subreddit stated that the “Gift of Express” will be available starting in Version 2.7. This lets players select one Standard 5-star character in Honkai: Star Rail to unlock. While these units have been eclipsed by their limited counterparts, some of them are still worthy pick-ups, especially for new players.

The Best Characters to Get from Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.7’s Leaked Gift of Express

The Standard character selector includes Bronya, Bailu, Clara, Gepard, Himeko, Welt, and Yanqing. While they all have something to bring to the table, some are more beneficial than others for newbies. Even seasoned Trailblazers can benefit from this selector by getting an Eidolon, which can make their standard character of choice significantly stronger and more viable.

  • Damage: Clara is a great damage unit, as she can hit all enemies using her skill and her counterattack can melt enemy HP if she’s built correctly. Himeko is another great choice, especially for encounters with multiple opponents like the Pure Fiction game mode. Her follow-up attacks deal area of effect (AOE) damage and can trigger after allies repeatedly break enemy weaknesses.
  • Support: Bronya is the only true support option in the standard banner, excluding the 4-stars. She can advance ally actions by 100% and buff their damage using her skill. Her Ultimate provides allies with a big CRIT DMG and ATK improvement for two turns. While she’s not as versatile or skill-point friendly as her limited Harmony counterparts (Robin and Sparkle), she’s still an excellent unit to use in Honkai: Star Rail‘s hypercarry teams with Boothill and even double DPS comps with Jing Liu. This is because she can advance these characters’ turns so that they can use their enhanced attacks more often.
  • Sustain: Gepard wins out over Bailu by a hair in the sustain department. His shields offer a reliable way to keep the team alive during crucial boss fights. However, players will need to build him correctly to ensure he has a high DEF% to improve his shields and use an Energy Regen Link Rope to ensure that he can consistently activate those shields using his ultimate.

Honkai: Star Rail 2.7 may Also Provide an Additional 10 Pulls for Free

HSR already gives out 10 Star Rail Special Passes for every big update. However, it may provide 10 more in the form of a 1,600 Stellar Jades (the premium currency for buying Star Rail Special Passes) giveaway, according to the same leak by StepLeaks. This will give players even more chances of getting Sunday, Fugue, their light cones, or future characters and rerun units. If these leaks are accurate, then players on the fence about Honkai: Star Rail should definitely consider trying it out in the coming months to get a free unit and an abundance of resources to pull for limited characters.
