Netflix’s The Witcher Season 4 Reveals More New Cast Members

Key Takeaways

  • Season 4 of The Witcher features new cast members in addition to recasts of popular characters.
  • Henry Cavill and Kim Bodina have been recast, Liam Hemsworth replaces Cavill as Geralt.
  • Production for Season 4 began in 2024, but Netflix has yet to confirm a 2025 premiere date.

Season four of Netflix’s The Witcher hasn’t seen the easiest of times as production seemingly moved at a tar-like pace. Even though filming has wrapped up for the upcoming fantasy series, the adaptation has already seen characters having to be recast but, in a bid to make up for that, The Witcher season four has revealed a host of new cast faces that are joining the show. Following the dramatic events left over from season three, season four will focus primarily on Geralt and his new-found family, with Yennefer and Ciri dealing with their own struggles, but collectively they must navigate a war-ravaged Continent filled with horrific monsters, bloodthirsty humans, and survive the baptism of fire so to be reunited again.

The Witcher has already had to recast two of its major characters from the series, the beloved Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, and also Kim Bodina, who played Geralt’s mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir in season two. Following the announcement that Cavill would be hanging up his sword as Geralt, some fans were quick to assume that Cavill’s decision was due to his commitment to Superman, while others think it was due to creative differences with the production team. Either way, Liam Hemworth had no issues jumping into Cavill’s leather pants to take on the role of the “Butcher of Blaviken”.
